Lambda Wars (formerly Half-Life 2: Wars) brings the struggle between the human resistance and their Combine overlords to a multiplayer real-time strategy setting. The Lambda Wars beta only requires Alien Swarm installed to play. It features 3 multiplayer game modes: Sandbox, Annihilation and Overrun, showcasing the Rebels and Combine playable factions and a full-fledged RTS interface and HUD. There is also a singleplayer tutorial and a handful of singleplayer missions.

Install Instructions: 1. Extract contents into your sourcemods folder (default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\sourcemods). 2. Restart steam. 3. "Half-Life 2: Wars" should now appear in your games list. If you do not have "Alien Swarm" installed, it will ask you to download it upon launching the mod.

Balance and Gameplay:
* Added new unit "Rebel Flamer" to Rebel barracks. Requires Rebels Munition Depot.
* Combine "power" resource is now capped. This maximum amount of power can be increased by placing "energy cells"
* Reduced requisition income from Headquarters building (only 1 per 30 seconds, instead of 1 per 10 seconds)
* Reduced costs smg1 upgrade Metro Police from "1 Requisition and 1 Scrap" to "1 Requisition"
* Added placable barricades to construct options of Rebel Engineer and Combine Stalker. Barricades provide cover for units.
* Dropped scrap is now only visible for the player who killed the unit 

* Headcrab cannisters are no longer launched on indoor maps
* Current active enemies of the wave are automatically killed when no activity is detected (to prevent the game from getting stuck in certain cases)

* New Rebels Headquarters building (including construction, build progress and destruction animations)
* Combine Energy Cell (including construction, build progress and destruction animations)

* NEW: hlw_washedaway (8 players)
* UPDATED: hlw_meltdown
* UPDATED: tutorial 
* UPDATED: or_hill (more cover and an extra way up)
* UPDATED: or_trapped (added kill trigger beneath ground)

* New Victory and Defeat screens
* Ability sub menus (i.e. buildings menu) are now cleared after selecting an ability
* Improved existing mouse cursors
* New "Unit Select" mouse cursor
* Resource notifications now have icons
* Updated Unit and Ability icons

* Units are sometimes unable to shoot enemy buildings 
* The player is able to place buildings at the same spot in some cases
* Stalkers/Engineers trying to repair/construct destroyed buildings
* Building selection circle still showing during building explode animation when hovering the mouse on some spots
* Placing of a building by the player gets canceled after the selected engineer finishes the current active construction of a building
* Gamelobby dropdown menus not disappearing in some cases
* HUD incorrectly changes to rebels hud when another player joins the game
* Incorrect pixel shader model being used for some users, even though pixel shader 3.0 is available (only on low-end machines)
* Non explored parts of the map not being darkened for some materials
* Tutorial map no longer uses the game mode "Sandbox", but instead a new "Single Player" game mode
* "Game" key input is now disabled when a HTML panel has key focus
* Added missing Antlion Hive models (Sandbox Antlion faction)
* Build time in tooltip of Factory buildings keeps going higher when the factory is unable to spawn an unit due the population limit

Unit AI and Navigation:
* Updated target distance code regarding large units (e.g. buildings)
* Various navigation changes

CPU Player:
* Improved resource spending of CPU Player
* Improved building placement
* Added base defending behavior
* CPU Player will always first produce a builder in case it has no builders yet

* It is now possible to multi select units in the unitpanel (SandBox) and randomly spawn units from the item selection
* Custom mouse cursor is now almost used everywhere in the game (instead of the default windows cursor)
* Improved shutdown time
* Dropped support for pixel shader 2.0b
* Updated embedded Python to 2.7.5

Specs? This version drops support for sm2.0, but I doubt your gpu is that old.

its not, its just a bug because me and my friend went back to 2.0.9 and just crashed in middle of overrun game same way.

Calm down, that version is ****** because at least in 2.0.9 I could get into a game, it would just crash after a bit, so I guess its a bug in both that wasn't fixed. No need to get so irritated over nothing.

We think, we found the problem. For some Geforce cards the source engine forces the dx level back to a lower level, which end up using shader model 2.0 (which was removed in this release). We are trying to fix it for the next version.

in the launch options, put "-dx_level 9" or "dxlevel 9" without quotes(and I can't remember which).
