Today we'll take a look at Chevau-Legers Polonais de la Garde Imperiale, some the most elite cavalry in the French army.

Originally created in 1807 by Napoleon to serve as an elite bodyguard recruited from the Polish nobility and landowning classes, they were unquestionably the most famous cavalry regiment of the era and frequently cited as one of the greatest of all time. The Polish Chevau-Legers proved their incredible aptitude for combat time after time at several of the period's major battles.

Their most famous exploit was probably at the 30 November, 1808 battle of Somosierra Pass, where the Spanish had set up a desperate last attempt to halt the French march on Madrid. A single squardon of the Polish Chevau-Legers charged the Spanish army, artillery and all, head on and captured all four of their batteries. Though half the squadron was killed or wounded in the charge, they carved a permanent name for themselves in the annals of history.

In the 1809 war against Austria, they saw action at several of the major battles of the Austrian front, including Aspern-Essling and Wagram. The most noteworthy battles of the war.

In the mod they'll be available to French officers recruiting in Poland. They were only armed with lances (thus their better known name, the 'Polish Lancers') after the War of the Fifth Coalition, so they serve as light cavalry in the mod.

How big is the singleplayer map going to be? As in, how many in-game days will it take to move across it (Assuming no combat encounters and say, 5.0 speed)?

I'd guess about the size of the 1257 ad map, although he might not include Africa, just turkey and Mideast for the ottomans.

Are Guards and the like still unable to out shoot a Line infantry class?
The one thing I disliked about NW, the better trained regiments somehow cannot shoot as well but they're better at sticking you with a bayonet;
Have you changed the class balancing from NW or is it the same for reasons of balance?

Im talking about in the mod, not in NW, considering this is accurate representation the better trained units should be bale to out shoot lesser units, you misunderstand me, Please read and understand before replying.

Well, I can't very well make some multiplayer units plainly better than others. It wouldn't be balanced, and not balanced is not fun.

Hmm, But does this mean that Guard and Grenadier units will perform better than the standard line infantry in singleplayer (Something I am mightily looking forward to from the mod)Or would that be too much hassle to differentiate between the two?

I'd expect that they would, in the same way that a Nord Huscarl performs better than a Nord Recruit :P

What i hate is when people do a single player , they don't know about the combat and campaign AI setting, it always starts off as poor which makes it very to easy and no fun, someone could beat Napoleon with no loses, If you want a challenge make both good, and make sure campaign AI is good or the generals will do stupid things like not follow you as Marshall.
You can find both of these settings in options where on the right it says difficultly setting.
