u mean second to the right? :P
He is looking away from the muzzleflash. You might want that if you don't like ending up with the right side of your face slightly burned, or if you are afraid that your musket is overloaded. Then the backpiece of the barrel is going to explode.
Weird though, they should be loading measured paper cartridges.
