Our goal is to re-create the first episode of Doom onto the GoldSRC engine (Half-Life engine.) We have four mappers, 2 modelers, and a coder, along with me trying to figure it out. We will glady take any help we are offered, but we have all we need. If you want to help, please apply to this group: http://www.moddb.com/groups/knee-deep-in-the-dead-mod-team . You can also register at out forum Hlgmdoomep1.freeforums.org
We are going to include the Doom monsters (zombies with guns, imps, etc), the weapons from it (the chainsaw to the pistol) and we are going to attempt to make Doom Deathmatch and co-op.
Our current team as of 2009-08-11 consists of:
NinjaBunny (mod head/ mapper)
IMPCNRD (coder/mapper)
reaperreloaded703 (Coder, Mapper, and modeler)
Decer (Animator)
Special words go to the PARANOIA team, for making a amazing mod and the fact we're using their mod until we're finished with out own coding.
And, of course, anyone who is watching this mod. Can't forget the fans.

Well, first off, I would like to state that I have contacted a man by the name Steve Rot, who had made a "Doom Tribute", recreating all the music from Doom. After getting into contact with him, he gave me permission to use his work. And I must say, his work is pretty good. You can listen to his work on Youtube (the link to one of his songs will be on the bottom of the list.)
As for the second part of this news, if you missed it, there is a gameplay video of the mod up on this page, and Youtube as well (links will be on the bottom as well).
Well, there isn't much more to say, except, thanks for all your support and such.

I understand what you are trying to do but I don't exactly understand why. Wouldn't it make more sense to improve the detail of the maps and so forth? Why keep them exactly the same? I might as well just play Doom, and if I wanted 3D models I could just load up Doomsday.
how long this mod release ?
However long it takes.
>Doom in half life with quake engine
that's alot of mess to sort out
will you take out fall damage? (if thats even possible, the hell if i know)
It's easily possible, but, I don't think it will. Besides, fall damage shouldn't be much of a problem anyway.
Voted!
voted hey guys update this mod or just post a news article so that ppl will see it and vote for it
Excuse me, but....
Are you going to use Risen3D HUD? I don't really mind if you do.
Because if you do that would look great!
Now that I look back on it... Games in those days had REALLY SHET level designing. I mean... Computers and consoles could handle a little more then that. You could have just hired a 8 year old the make the levels in those days. But now a day its a pain in the bum to make something half decent.
