can someone please tell me how to install this mod or at least give a a link the page because i have been trying to get this mod to work for a while and all i get is a black screen at startup.

I have tested it but without delaying the release immensely it isn't possible for me to exhaustively test it. There shouldn't be any massive bugs, but as I am not intimately familiar with the changes that FleetOps makes to the Storm3d Engine I cannot guarantee it. Again, hence the Beta...

To install, run the installer and install in your FleetOps Mod directory (so Mods\KA2 EAW). To get it to run takes a little tweak. Remember to download the "Replacement Texture Folder" RAR also.

Firstly you will need the STA2 Classic Mod installed.
Copy the Classic Mods folder and rename the copy to "CutDown".
Open this new folder. Find the textures folder. Delete it.
Open the Replacement Texture Folder RAR and copy the Textures folder from it to your new CutDown directory

What you have essentially just done is made a bare-bones version of the STA2 Classic Mod that does not feature the texture files (_1 and _2 files) that cause KA2 to crash. It's an incompatibility i've never really been able to solve.

Ive installed it but I have no idea how to launch it.. I only see an icon for what possibly be the launcher but nothing else

Run the normal FleetOps exe. Then at launcher screen, click "Options" then "Mod Settings". You should see KA2 listed. Select it then click "Launch Mod"

You installed the KA2 mod and the STA2 Classic mod in the directories instructed and followed the install instructions on how to prepare FleetOps for KA2? (the creation of a "CutDown" folder etc?)

never mind.. the mod settings show up now but the KA2 mod dosent show up only A2classic

In the KA2 folder, is there an ini file called info.ini? That should be what tells FleetOps "hey, this is a mod, look at me"

when i try to play the campaign it loads it up and when it starts its all fog of war and no ships or stations

i tried several different missions with the same result

Does this mean you won't work on A2 anymore and just finish the mod for Fleetops?

Either way it's good but, I'll miss being able to edit maps on the fly so I can test it on the go with Crlt-A. I never did like that lack of a feature in FleetOps, I tend to enjoy not having to Map map - exit map - load map in Skirmish - Test - Exit - Fix - Repeat till perfected.

Arthur: Campaign missions do not function in EAW. Only in the original version of this mod (The General War).

Valkyrie: Tis just easier that way. You can however switch back and forth in FleetOps, I believe they just changed the shortcut to Ctrl-E.

I cant figure out how to get that button in fleet ops to come up I tried searchign for a solution online and am frustrated as all I find is nothing that can help me understand. I made mods folder and I start the game go to options and there is the standard things =/ oekase help ! XD

I figured out my problem. the instuctions made it seem to me that it was in fleet operations/mods
I moved it to databcause that made more sense to me and I was jsut folowing the instructions becasue osmetimes it works like that XD anwyays you dont have to keep the original star trek armada 2 classic jsut keep the cutdown if you dont want it.

alright new problem for me XD I got the mod to launch to went to instant action and click launch it crashed on loading, i got it to load and every time i click on a ship and or station it crashes. there was a single play option but no missions which i think was normal because of he general thing mention

To install, make sure it's in the Fleet Operations mod folder. For me, this is;

F:\Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations\Data\Mods

So, your KA2 folder would be

F:\Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations\Data\Mods\KA2 EAW

and your Cutdown folder

F:\Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations\Data\Mods\CutDown

Should all work fine then.

yeah I made sure that was settup
i read the instructions alot when i done it, and it was very confusing at first by the wording i think. I got the game to start and I would click on a station then crash
I will reinstall it to try to tweak it and see how it goes. do I have to keep the classic mod installed or cna i remove it after making "cutdown"

You can remove it after making CutDown. Remember to delete the textures folder from the CutDown mod and replace it with the one I provided here. Simply copying and pasting the replacement folder will merge the two, not replace.
