We do have plans for a CtW. The walls would be ideal for epic scenarios, ie siege of Carthage, etc.

Yes I'll be adding gatehouses as well, though I might not be able to make them open and close (they'll just remain open). All of this will be in the next release, which is still a long way away.

Awesome work! I recognise those towers, though. Did you assimilate them from the Carthaginian city which I created in max?
Anyway, I noticed an issue which you might not have noticed: the segments are not flush with one another. Try to create your segments so that they resemble those in Age of Empires - they should be built in 2-doober squares, with the ends occupying the full doober, and the walls being flush with the square. Try and make 3 different parts - corner, n-s aligned segment, and e-w aligned segment. I can show you how it's done.

Will you be creating diagonal segments by any chance?

Thank you very much! The towers are actually a mix of two models imported from EU3. The wall models do occupy the full doober, the reason why they don't completely align is due to the varying elevation of the terrain, so unfortunately there's nothing that can really be done about that.

I don't see much of a need for diagonal segments, also I think there would be issues with the alignment. So for now it'll just be these pieces as well as gates.

You can create your own using elements from the Carthaginian wall model which I gave you. It should not be too difficult.

Progress has really slowed down unfortunately now that I'm back at school, we're still focusing on the Seleucids but there isn't really much to preview at the moment. Beelim is making good progress on a Scythed Chariot unit though!

Will walls/gates ever be buildable in quick battles? Even if the simplest was was to add them as just two structures, one is a "middle" part which makes up most of the wall, and the other is a "corner segment" or "tower segment" which thus makes up the towered bit's I see.

This and gates would be awesome...man, i wish this game shipped with walls and gates as turning them into like lazer grids or steel re-enforced concrete in later ages (say in a seperate mod) would be even more awesome. But hey, that's just me.

Unfortunately there isn't really any way to get walls and gates working properly in quick battles. One problem is that the player would have to place each individual piece instead of having a click-drag system like in other games. Secondly and most importantly, the AI would have no idea how to use walls and gates properly and would most likely place a few random wall pieces in their cities rather than build an actual wall.

Description

While there isn't any way to get walls working properly in quick battles, you will be able to place walls in the scenario editor, so you can have walled cities and fortresses! This should help to make scenarios more immersive and historical.
