No, not Perdiccas, but thanks for guessing.

Here's another hint: The king was part of the Antigonid dynasty

i don't want early access if im right (not much free time) and my answer comes randomly from google. so if i get it, the first one to like reply or something should be the one.. antigonos gonatas? am i a douche for doing that??

I must say that was very close. Antigonos Gonatas has been depicted with a very similar helmet with goat horns and the lappets, though not the crest.

And that's a good idea, so if you get the correct answer and someone replies in agreement, they will get early access. Even if no one replies, there are still those renders that I'll put up on here, so something will come out of it. Besides there are always other opportunities for guessing games like this one.

Philip V, perhaps? No idea of the helmet, just know he ruled during that time. Looks good, by the way!

Congratulations you are indeed correct! The helmet was based on this bust of Philip the V: Img20.imageshack.us . This helmet was also depicted in the Osprey book "Macedon Armies after Alexander 323-168 BC", in this picture: Weaponsandwarfare.com .

So you'll be getting early access to the mod, if that is okay with you, and I'll be uploading some renders of the two soldiers that accompany the Military Tyrant as soon as I can.

Also, I should add that it will probably be early next year when you'll be getting early access to the mod. It all depends on how quickly I am able to complete the remaining features. When the time comes, I'll be putting the mod onto dropbox and I'll send you a PM with the link.

You are very welcome. I'm putting up the renders of the bodyguards right now so you'll be able to see them in a few minutes.

Description

A sequel to the earlier 'A Special Unit' preview, this picture features the Macedonian version of the Military Tyrant patriot.

His helmet may look quite strange with its ram horns and lappets, but it actually existed, and belonged to a certain Macedonian king. The question is, which king owned this helmet? Since this is a difficult question, the first person to post the correct answer will get early access to the mod. Also, if someone gets it right I'll upload renders of the two soldiers that will accompany this unit. Good luck!

Hint: it's not Alexander the Great.
