Sorry about the delay folks, Katana is nearly done -- just a few animations and last minute checks and I think we're there. We're looking at a week, maybe two; unless there's a major setback (Strat wants to beat HL2 to the punch).
In the meantime, StratonAce has kindly written a few tidbits about the Katana universe and some of the technology that will be featured in the mod. Furthermore, with permission from Kenneth Yeung, I've updated his Max Payne: Kung Fu Edition manual, detailing some of the new additional features and moves in Katana.
Finally, for those of you in the USA who missed the PC Gamer UK article on Katana; you'll find that it has been reprinted in the October edition; so keep your eyes open for that.
Anyway, the bulk of the update is on our site, so by all means, feel free to check out the new content.

I voted for this mod. I actually was checking this mod out when you first registered, and was always fascinated by the concept art of the main character in his armor. Very cool.
Hope you guys get ranked high, because it's obvious there will be plenty of competition. :)
If the game is complaining about missing files then you might need to reinstall Max Payne from the CD. Also, be sure to install the 1.05 patch, which can be obtained here: 3drealms.com
Katana has been tested to work with the full version of Max Payne 1 patched to version 1.05 ; but not the demo, or any other version.
I just downloaded the and extraxted everything, but when i was starting the game, i got an error message:
Exeption in engineInit: X_sharedDB:Music "data\database\music\noise\eerie_junkie_atmosphere.wav" File not found
What shall I do, please help me guys

It's good, but Max does occasionly freeze when you use the Halberd
The voice acting, I have to say, is really weak. The protaganist sounds like.. an anime nerd.
