After numerous testing, and gathering some information.
I have determined that CryEngine 2 is not the engine for this project.
I am going to have this team continue working on models for our game, but it will not be for Crysis.
CryEngine 2 just isn't either advanced enough, or stable enough for this project.
I'll give it about a year for us to see what new engines are in the works.
That is plenty of time for us to finish most of the characters, dinosaurs, vehicles, structures, etc.
I've thought this over, and I just can't be motivated for this project if CryEngine 2 is going to decide what I can and can't do.
I'll reorganize the site back online. Seeing as there is no engine involved in the project now, I would say that our worrys about legality should be far less. So I will likely be bringing the site back up this weekend.
Damnit. Wasted 50 bucks on a game for a mod that might not even use it. At least Lost World Returns is still looking good for Crysis.
Though whatever engine you switch to, I'll be getting the game that it'll work with :D
I'm not switching engines. I freaked out. I'm going to just have to deal with the limitation. I'll still create a basic 16 KM map, but as far as gameplay and vegetation, details.. etc. The game will be in seperate map files. Now incase 16 KM is someday working flawlessly, I'll try to create everything in a way that allows for easy transfer the best I can.

A wise old man once said. " If you never compromise you will never realize."
I don't think any engine will ever work exactly the way a modder would like. Some things will work well, others will not. This was such a great outdoor engine that I feel if you can't make it work with CryEngine 2 then stick a fork in it----- it's done.
I hope I am wrong. And wish you the best of luck with your project.
Very good job, as always ^^
Nice Island! I post the Update on the German Crysis Forums!
The island looks great, I will update the sites when I get home.
drooling for an update.
Hmmm, images of the island = goodness :)
You know what. I can without any worries show images of the island.
So I'll do that before the big update. I'll show you our work on the island. :D
