I would just like to let everyone know where we are at currently.

I've resumed work on Visitors' Center Rotunda. I know, you are probably saying "finally!". Rotunda has been a bit of a pain, testing my very limit of 3D modeling.
Yes that is Alyx and Barney from Half-Life 2. They do a wonderful job as human rulers. The other image is for comparison to show you where we're at.
Raptor Pen - It is finished being modeled, and is already being textured.
Jeep YJ - The Jeep model actually has all of its texture mapping finished; so it has a WIP texture so far and looks promising. Can't wait to show you when it is done.
Safari Lodge - A new addition to the team is putting together concept art for the Safari Lodge. So if you enjoyed those Aviary pictures, you'll likely enjoy these too.
Velociraptor - By the end of next weekend, should have new renders.
A few new people have joined the team; One is a music composer. He is remaking a few unreleased tracks from the score such as The History Lesson (5m1). I'll have examples of his work for you in the days to come as well.
Besides working on the Rotunda, I've been trying to educate myself on the functions in CryEngine 2 Editor. I've managed to figure out enough to create clouds, time of day/lighting, terrain, vegetation, A.I., and music. Yes, music.. I actually have JP music in the game. In my test map, which has the same terrain used in the Raptor Pen scene, I am able to walk around with a suspenseful track from the JP score. When an enemy comes by, the mood changes, and thus the .OGG audio file changes to an action face-paced track. Both segments though are part of the cue known as, The Island Incident (1m1b). This cue was used in the begining of Jurassic Park, when procedure goes wrong while transporting a raptor to the raptor pen, and one of the workers are attacked by the fowl beast. You all remember this scene "Shooot her!". :)
On a similar note, I've gathered so much research on Hawaii it would make you sick. I have a 4 FT DEM of the location used in the film, where the helicopter flys to the island. Quite possibly the smallest meter size DEM I've been able to find. Kauai is all 4 meter, but that isn't so bad I guess, it just means I have to remake alot of details >:(. But anyways, aerial photography thats like 10,000 pixels or higher for small locations, high quality ground/birds eye view photography, and even panorams. Couple that with the DEMs/heightmaps, and that is enough to recreate all the filming locations of Jurassic Park. And I do have all the locations already.
Before I conclude this update, I do wish to say that I am currently updating the site. We have a new URL which is JurassicParkMOD.com. I have plans for a new website design, with a new agenda that includes promoting it in multiple languages. We currently have a little German homepage run by Philip Köngeter which is generating 25% of our traffic and has even featured us in German publications. So, worth exploring don't you think?
So there is alot to update you on, I even could tell you about the fun assignment my programmers have. One of them is attempting to emulate Macintosh System 7.0.1 in Crysis. Possible? Yes. Should be quite interesting to see how this unfolds. Their overall task is to re-create applications and operating systems from Jurassic Park for use ingame. If running the original System 7 ingame is successful, no recreation nessesary I guess. IRIX 4.1 though, forget the idea of emulating that. It is not freely released on the web for one like System 7 has been, and also it requires that you have SGI hardware to run it. So ripping IRIX 4.1 graphics/sounds, and recreating it is in a more limited reduced version for use in our mod... is the ideal strategy here. There is also of course the applications to be recreated. Nedry's JP OS that operates within System 7, I guess as some sort of mod of the OS. Nedryland it is called. There is also the real-life application FSN; File System Navigator. It is a 3D directory browser, used in the scene where Lex turns on the security systems again. "It's a UNIX system". Yes, actually it is a UNIX system. IRIX 4.1 is SGI's UNIX type system, GUI of course. FSN was just a nice application that allowed you to browse in a very neat way. Anyways, a clone of FSN was made for Linux not long ago called FSV. With a little insight from FSV, just to get an idea of how FSN would work, if FSV is a good clone that is... then we can more accurately recreate FSN as seen in Jurassic Park.
That concludes this update. You all got way more information than I planned on typing. :)
