This mod is not for Jedi Outcast!

Jedi Knight Enhanced is a graphical overhaul for the game Jedi Knight: Dark forces 2

The mod features higher poly models, and higher resolution 16 bit textures. It aims for "Quake 3 era" graphics. (Or if you prefer, similar to JO/JA)

All models and sprites work with the original animations, sounds, etc.

It is the aim of this mod to be compatable with vanilla Jedi Knight, as well as any other modifications and levels.

At the time of the current beta (0.06) The mod has so many resources that the game can't load them all. However, a patch has been developed that allows all the resources to load.

Features include:

  • All dynamic models replaced, such as players, enemies, weapons, vehicles, and projectiles.
  • All new higher resolution sprites.
  • Much larger sky textures

Jedi Knight Enhanced is a modification for Jedi Knight Dark Forces II.

This mod replaces the original Jedi Knight models with higher poly versions, and higher resolution textures. It just makes the game more appealing to play!

Two years in the making, JKE replaces all the models for players, enemies, NPC's, weapons, projectiles, and vehicles. Also included are all new sprites, skies, and 16 bit sabers.

So bust out that copy of Jedi Knight. (You know you have one somewhere!) And give this great game another play through.

Yes, but likely only if you retrieve the original JK 1.00 EXE with the JKVersions tool. Moddb.com

Do NOT download and install this, this "mod" will corrupt and destroy your game

When I installed the app, I got the error "JK.exe is not a valid win64 application"

I had no problems whatsoever running JK on my Windows 7 machine (that I used to make TODOA TC in late 2011 and early 2012).

Basically I downloaded the Steam version, replaced its JK EXE with the proper one from the CD ( with the JKVersions tool Moddb.com ) and that was basically all I needed.

This tool also works on my current Win 8 machine (and with the GOG and CD versions), even though then I get a whole lot of other issues with the game that vary in the severity of their hindrance.

In any case, it is possible to run JK properly on Win 7 machines, Win 8 is the one that gets really tricky.

Because its not. It's a 32bit application. Well. 16 actually. Which isn't actually playable on a 64 bit system :)
