You're right, it does look like the texture belongs in a game powered by Unreal Engine 3 (for example, Mirror's Edge or Bioshock).

I'm getting annoyed with the amount of people relating lag with a low frame rate which is totally not what it means.

In a singleplayer game, the server is the same machine as the client, so lag = low framerate. On average, I lose less than 5 FPS on this map vs any other map, so it's not that bad.

In a single player game I doubt there is any networking code at all, at least it would be pretty useless since sending packets to only 1 machine being the machine it is running on has no purpose.

Lag is network based.
FPS is rendering/computation based.

Lag can also be caused by the server having low fps.

In a single player game, the server is the same machine as the client, so there is no lag between the two. Lag =/= low framerate. High quality textures will cause low framerate on low quality computers, no matter if it's a single player or multiplayer game. However, if you have a high latency on a multiplayer game, a low framerate will make it even worse for you, as the frames that get through can be even further from the present.

Moral: Lag is not the same as low fps

Other than that, image looks nice.

lag actually just means hanging or falling behind, so it's not entirely wrong since the graphics card isn't able to render the scene at the desired framerate

Kasplatt, I salute you. You have a very good point, though I think you know what situation they're using it in. You can say that if you're a slow runner, you might lag behind in a 100m sprint.

For everyone else.
Needless to say, in-game I think it might be easier to say "Oh no, I have some lag" than it is to say "Oh no, I have quite a low fps rate which is leading to my game becoming slower than I intended" Yes, that was an unnecessary use of sarcasm and over-exaggeration, but you get my point :P
