I see what you mean. It's probably remedied by a small addition of code in the particle section to make them stop once emitted, or the particles just need a longer fade out time.
White phosphorus itself will burn, but the smoke from it, if inhaled in heavy concentrations for an extended period of time can cause illness or death. It will not cause you to burst into flames.
BUT, it makes for a good gameplay element and a great in-game weapon, so I believe that is the reason it was implemented with the current features.
One question though, is the burning (literal) going to be kept, or will it be removed, and will it be more like a chemical burning effect?
White phosphorous ignites, smoke created by the white phosporous is called phosporous pentoxide, this smoke dous NOT ignite, it DOUS irritate your eyes and nose and will only be harmful in a high dosis (very close to the source) just going in the smoke for a few seconds shouldn't set you on fire and should only irritate your eyes, you should recover normally when you get out of the smoke.
i love being awake so late xD?
I love being just home from tech.
I do know what you mean :P

Amazing work, though the smoke looks a little weird (how it goes up when the grenade is moving).

lOOKS very nice!
That looks awesome.
I'd love to see you implement some type of gas mask to use with this.
Something tells me that you'd need a lot more than a gas mask, but I'd also like to see some way to avoid it.
Nice work but the gas should slowly grow it kinda just appears. but it is looking good you guys.
