The Aral Sea. Once a giant economic hub, it's water has evaporated just like the wealth depending on it. Due to negligence on the Governments part, the entire ecosystem has collapsed. Toxic chemicals have been dumped in the area, causing total destruction of regrowth. Sand storms hit the area day after day, causing the residents constant hardship and health problems.
Over 90% of the sea has now dried up causing once great fishing towns to abandon and fall apart. The entire Soviet fishing fleet now lies rusting and falling apart.
On Vozrozhdeniya Island (now a peninsula due to falling sea levels) deep within the water basin is an old Soviet Chemical Weapons facility. Shut down in 1992, the improper disposal of biological weapons has left the entire peninsula a human danger zone. The neighboring city of Kantabuk is no different. Once home to 1,500 people it is now totally uninhabited, a ghost town on the maps.
However, strange happenings are beginning. The Russian Government has bought out Vozrozhdeniya Island from Uzbekistan territory to become Russian territory, unannounced to the media. An informant for the Iranian Government has now reported that once inactive bunker's and silo's are now drawing energy from power stations.
Rumours have been collected by the informant in the surrounding villages, about the possible existence of some native Selvatic creatures living on the island (possibly dogs), now accustomed to drink salt water and coming out mostly at night. The informant himself tells about strange howling sounds carried by the wind while he was visiting the island with a military escort...

Well, it has been a few months since our last media release. Since then, we've found and dropped new people and produced quite a bit of content. I apologise about the lack of outdoor screenshots, they'll come very soon (I'm waiting on a skybox texture)
Anyways, first up is the weapons. Here we have the SR-2M sub machine gun, a short range automatic weapon. Next is the Remington 870AE pump-action shotgun. Both of these models are dynamically lit, using phong to it's greatest ability. Thanks to Millenia and Tycho Terryn for this.
Next up is the map screenshots. Me and Insight have been working on the laboratory sections of the game, including a big foyer area.
The foyer area was inspired by the grandoise Soviet architecture they were known for. Lot's of marble, murals and intricate tiling.

Drew has taken a break, but still managed to create us a few props.

Finally, Nocturne has been making us some weapon attachments. The weapon attachment system will have a video on the next update. It's similar to the Crysis system (although we designed it before it came out ;) ) and allows you to customize your weapon to your own playstyle.
For instance, on your magazine you could choose to have either extended amounts of ammunition, or an LED counter taped on that tells you how many bullets remain in the magazine (remember, no HUD!)
Oh, some of you may have missed the Spetsnaz charachter IHazard developed for the mod. I'm including it in this media release for that reason!
