maybe you can help me. i have steam, and steam installed arma2 and arma2-oa into two different folders. well i already did some research and tried different ways, but i cant get this mod to work.the problem is (i think) that the game (combiend operations) doesnt shows me the mod under "expansions". i installed the mod (@I44CO) and @CBA, but the game just doesnt seem to recognize it. the install.exe createt the folder @I44CO, in my game datafolder. (...steamapps\common\arma 2\@I44CO). same for the @CBA. is that right? or should i install it into the arma-oa folder? maybe copy it into an addon folder? can you help me?

This took me a while to figure out too, but here's what you do.

1. (assuming you start with no mods installed, as if you just downloaded it with steam) You copy/paste all the files in your "steamapps/common/arma 2" directory, into your "steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead" directory. (this way you have the original arma 2 files still in the original directory as backup)
2. Put your mod files into the "steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead" directory, just like you had them, only in Operation Arrowhead.
3. Your pretty much done now, so start Operation Arrowhead up (NOT COMBINED OPS) and when you get to the main menu, go to expansions, then select your mods (@I44CO, @CBA, ALSO CHECK ARMA 2). Then the game will restart, running the mods, and will continue to run the mods at startup until you change the expansions list again.
You can also edit the steam properties for Operation Arrowhead to run the mods at startup if you like, but I didn't tell the steps to do that because I explained a simpler way to do the same thing. There are other things that can be done with the steam game properties; however, such as, getting rid of the startup logos.
Anyways I hope this helped and that you will have no more problems, if you do; however, just say so. :)

You need to place both @CBA and @I44CO folders into your (...steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\). After you've done that go to your steam game library, right click on ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead and select "Properties". Once that is done click "Set Launch Options" and type this in "-mod=expansion;@CBA;@I44CO" (without the " marks) and press OK. Next time you run Combined Operations the game should run both CBA and Invasion 44. Cheers! Good luck. If you're up for a game add me on steam by the way: anthonyat33

I'm not 100% on how steam versions work, but from what I gather you need to run the v2.5(and onwards) as Combined Operations, it will not work with standalone OA or ArmA2. I have a non steam installation and both games install to the same directory and run off the OA exe with access to the A2 content.

These two threads on our public forums may be of help to you:

The second link is probably of most use as it describes how to run a steam installation as Combined Operations. Sorry I can't give more info but not owning the steam versions I have never had to suffer its awkwardness with A2.

I tried to register in your forums, but it wouldnt let me. I just wanted to say I've been following this mod since 2001 when I stumbled upon your website and almost had a heart attack. I've always wanted a WW2 based game that gave a sense of immersion, and not just a typical on rails fps. It was my mistake to be a silent follower all this time, I know the more expressed support the more chance you will carry on. This mod was the reason for me buying ofp and it's expansions, arma, and recently arma 2. I have to say you guys have kept your word and made this what you promised it to be and it is amazing. I'll be looking forward to future releases, keep up the great work! I can't imagine the amount of satisfaction you guys have when you finally relax and test your work, I recently tried to learn to make an island for personal use, when I realized that was way over my head I tried to retexture a vehicle... needless to say I spent countless hours reading and setting up tools and ended being more confused than when I started. Thank you for your years of hard work and dedication to bring this to us.
