This is an illegal Gold mine right here.. If you're going to do City 17 and the Combine, surely it makes more sense to make the mod for HL2? o_O
Oh, and Ag3nt-X, try to post at least beta 2
Reply to Stene:
I kinda remember making a HL1 mod called Half-Life 2 (HL1 mod)
Well guys I allready told you. This mod isn't getting anymore development since I moved to another mod with the same objective, to port content from hl2 to hl1 including maps and stuff, but now the new mod, called Beyond Half-Life is based on the very old alpha hl2 storyline as you can see on the Raising the bar book, If I get authorization from the leader I'll post the new mod soon here. Thanks for the comments.
I'm watching this! Can't wait! It looks awesome! Good luck to you guys.
where can i download it?
coool
srry. As I do agree with you that this probably won't get enough attention, don't pull information out of your *** like you know everything. Mods do get noticed that much by Valve. For example, Black Mesa: Source. Valve doesn't mind that they are making it, but made them change the name from Black Mesa: Source, to Black Mesa so that people don't think it is a Valve product. Just putting it out there...
Invasion 106 has a new leader and changed its name to Beyond Half-Life... The new leader is Proj3ct_Zero... for more information, visit www.fpsc.uni.cc at the Dev folder.. thanks...
Yes, it looks awesome, and yes, that citadel looks weird. As I understand it, it's just borrowing off the main themes of HL2, and not sticking really strictly to the way things were originally designed. This is a good approach, because it allows you to rebuild things in a way where they'll actually work with the rather old Half-Life engine.
And yes, I do believe using content from Half-Life 2 is technically copyright infringement, but Valve doesn't seem inclined to intervene with any project unless it gets noticed enough. It's just not worth the effort, and it's not going to hurt them any. So basically, no Half-Life mod these days is going to garner enough attention for them to care. Also keep in mind that all content that's going from HL2 to HL1 has to be edited and drastically reduced in quality to work, so it's not directly stealing from them.
Anyway, keep up the good work. I'd say you could work on the textures a bit more, as a few like they went straight from being a photo to a texture without any editing involved. But other than that, it looks really nice, and your brushwork is very interesting and consistent.
