Hangar16 presents "INTOLERABLE THREAT"
*INSTALLATION*
Intolerable Threat requires a full installation of Half-Life and Opposing Force
version 1.1.1.0 or higher. The IntolerableThreat.exe will search your system
registry to locate the Half-Life directory, and install accordingly. At the end
of the installation a DOS batch file will run and copy necessary files from your
Half-Life\valve and Gearbox folders. If you close the DOS box before it finishes,
you will have to run the IntolerableThreat.exe again to complete the installation.
Do not close the DOS box until the header reads "Finished - copy".
*NOTE*
If you have altered your gearbox folder to add/remove or change pak file names,
it's possible you may encounter problems running Intolerable Threat. For best
performance and reliability, make sure your gearbox folder is unchanged by
other mods.
Once installed, you can play Intolerable Threat by using the desktop shortcut
provided, or by starting Half-Life and selecting Intolerable Threat from the
custom game section of the Half-Life menu.
No changes are made to your system registry during installation, so uninstalling
is simply a matter of deleting the "it" folder from your Half-Life directory, and
the Intolerable Threat shortcut from your desktop.
This project is sponsored by Hangar 16.

*STORYLINE*
Intolerable Threat is a single player map set made for Opposing Force.
As Gordon Freeman, you must face down the Administrator for the last time.
The Administrator has taken control of "HANGAR 16" a government command and control
facility in the desert. From here he is possibly planning a coup against
the government of the United States, and vengeance against those who have opposed
him in the past. You need to meet with an agent who has the access codes to
enter the heavily guarded base, infiltrate it and prepare the way for friendly
forces to attack.
"I'm still hazy on the details. Sometimes it seems like a dream,
or a movie... Like it happened to someone else... I remember being
transported to Xen to end the alien threat and save the human
race. Xen. A damn bizarre world to say the least. After fighting one
damn ugly freak after another, I found the creature. The Nihilanth. I've
never seen any living thing anywhere near that size! And it was
responsible... For the invasion anyway. The Administrator was responsible
for the chaos, but I'll get to him later. Where was I? Oh yes, the
Nihilanth freak. I didn't know if I could reason with it or talk to it,
but that was soon decided when it attacked me... I responded in kind, and
after an endless barrage, I split open his big fat melon head and watched
the sucker die.
Green light, green light everywhere... And then he was
there. The Administrator. The stiff bastard in the blue suit. I've seen
him many times, but he always evaded me. Creepy, it was like he was
watching me all along... I don't know what his role in all of this was,
but from what I've heard from my other scientist colleagues was that he
knew about the possibility of a catastrophe, but did nothing to stop
it. In fact, he may have even caused it... Not to mention it was his
brilliant idea to send in the military to wipe everyone out, including
us. Gratitude. At least he was grateful, at least somebody was grateful
for what I had done. I honestly didn't expect to make it back alive. God
save my wife and newborn child back on Earth... Next thing I know, he's
got me on some train and he's offering me a job.
I'll tell you where you can stick your offer, you cold-blooded
butcher! Tired as I was, I was still going to rip his head off... But I
didn't get the chance, I was teleported again, back to Xen. My God, not
again... Alien Grunts. There must have been dozens of 'em... I think I
saw those flying freaks as well. I was willing to fight. To ram my fists
up against their armored hides until they killed me, or I couldn't lift my
fists anymore. Not that it would have done much good. The tough bastards
that they are... A bright flash of light, and once again I'm teleported
somewhere else. This time I remember seeing friendly faces. Scientist
colleagues, even my old security guard friend Barney... They were smiling
at me. I remember hitting the floor at that point. A couple of those
hornet thingies must have hit me before I was beamed out of there. I layed
on the floor and didn't bother to get up. I was too weak. My friends
rushed to help me and said something before I completely lost consciousness.
Now I'm in a sick bed telling this story to you... And one thing
is echoing through my brain. Kill the Administrator. Kill that G-man
butcher... I know I have to. For some reason I have to..."
