Try CUBE mod for Half life 2 if u want portal 2 without portals. It's really good
I recommend adjusting the soundscape for the outside so the sound of water doesn't seem to be constant.

Wow this looks absolutely amazing. It's hard to find mods like this with the only main goal of exploring. The player walks a little too fast for my taste though.
