What is Infiltration?

Infiltration is an immersion into realism, driven by intense military combat, in a squad-based, mission-oriented shooter. Each of those missions brings the distinctive taste of multifaceted warfare in any environment you can imagine.
You will choose your gear prior to the mission, based on the kind of soldier you want to be. Decide from a cache of modern-day weapons, keeping in mind the size and weight of the equipment and how much you can carry. Each mission will allow you to become a unique soldier, based on the equipment and skill you contribute to the tasks at hand.
The different venues you will be called into won't have weapons and ammunition lying about. You must bring in what you can carry, and salvage what you need from comrades or the enemy.
We give you the tools to do the job. How you do it is up to you. Take the skills you learn in one battle to help you with future missions and objectives. If you become a talented sniper, it's because you develop the skill to use the weapon and tactics properly and effectively.
Keep in mind that these bullets are for real. One well placed shot, and you are out! Use common sense, pay attention to detail, and watch your buddy's back. The essence of teamwork separates the winners from the dead.
Take your missions seriously, and move with diligence. Running around aimlessly will only put your team, and the entire mission, at risk. Play it smart, and you might come out of this alive.

What do I need to play?
- A PC or Mac that can run Unreal Tournament
- Unreal Tournament (original) w/ 436 update patch
- Infiltration 2.9
- An arsenal of completely realistic weapons. Everything from the exact reload sound to the trajectory of spent shell casings have been meticulously recreated.
- Do you have a crosshair floating in front of you? I didn't think so. Just like any other soldier, you must bring your weapon up to your eye to aim through the weapons iron sights or scope.
- Completely new movement. You are forced to move at realistic speeds that range from walk to jog to sprint. You also have the ability to crouch, get in a prone position, and lean around corners.

As we at Sentry Studios rev up production on the next generation of Infiltration for UT2k4, we are going to need additional people in every area. At this time we are specifically looking for modelers, but we will also consider 2d artists, animators, sound artists, programmers, and mappers. So, get that portfolio together and send it over to Beppo.
Founded in the winter of 2000, Sentry Studios came together as a group of professional-minded individuals with a desire for high quality, realistic entertainment. With an unequaled attention to detail, projects like Infiltration will be the bedrock of class in future game titles. Our desire is to create innovative, pragmatic experiences in both a fantastic and realistic nature, providing inspirational environments that entertain and encompass.
Presently, we are continuing our development of a free project for the Unreal engine entitled Infiltration, which started for the original Unreal in early 1999. In it's current state, the Infiltration project is represented by modern day combat and is unique in itself, not only because of it's method of realism, but it's ability to present the player with situations in any part of the world. It's not limited to a specific genre, and as such, campaigns can be created with virtually any form of struggle in mind. A player might enjoy close quarter battles and select from a handful of urban-based missions, or prefer more open field combat with tanks and air support. Whether it's a localized skirmish or a full-blown war, Infiltration can provide the setting and the immersion.

The status for completion should be 100% because it has been released.
And this is the best mod for Unreal Tournament
nominate for the mod of the month!
After a years delay and a version change from 2.87 to 2.90 Infiltration has gone gold. The new version will be available for download shorly after the CD release. This gives those who paid to receive the mod on CD a chance to see it before anyone else. Pressing and packaging of the CDs is expected sometime in november. Check the website for details.

3 words ... Best Game Ever!
yes this is a fun game i played it once but when it was time to reinstall it I COULDNT i had the same problem when i was first installing it, it wouldnt let me, god i hate ut install programs i extract the files and when i go to the setup it tells me it cant! grr so annoying

INF is nice, but especially the Custom-Maps are beautiful, the acutal 2.86 maps aren't that nice, so it deserves more another award as you have pointed out (I would chose the Originality Award Originality Award :) ).
