This mod started out as a 'Buildings Mod', with the objective to add more nice and useful buildings to the game, but many more improvements where needed and many ideas where coming so the 'Improvement Mod' was born. Working with the Steam and non-Steam versions, the mod upgrades the game with small and big changes alike, as well as necessary tweaks and adds to make the gameplay more complex, realistic, interesting, fun and challenging. All known bugs from the original game have been fixed. It's being updated very often and everything is of the highest quality and bug-less. Check out the "Features" tab for more details. This mod is only for The Asian Dynasties but requires AOE3+TWC+TAD 1.03.
Every version of this mod should be installed on a fresh, unmodified version of 'Age of Empires 3 The Asian Dynasties' (must also include 'The War Chiefs' and all games must be updated to the latest versions, v1.03 for TAD)! Mostly recommended only if you have any kind of errors or other problems. If you have problems with missing models, sounds or buildings icons then try to re-install 'The War Chiefs'. It has some installation glitches. And if that doesn't work then find out how to fix it at the end of this description. High video settings are recommended for all visual changes to work properly. Please do not 'update' the mod with any rip-offs or other modifications from mods 'designed' to work with this one. To make sure you always have the latest version check out the mod's blog periodically.
The Improvement Mod Patcher can be used to fully download and install the mod on a clean installation of AoE3. The Patcher can also be used to keep the mod up-to-date.
You only need to have both expansions installed (TWC and TAD) and the latest official updates. Download the Patcher and put it in the game's main directory, where all the executables are.
Run the Patcher as ADMINISTRATOR and wait until it finishes downloading, after which you can run the game from the Patcher itself or from the normal TAD exe, the mod will be playable either way.
If you have any problems be sure to ask for help here or on the mod's blog.
