iFarm is a farming simulation mod for Crysis. The basic idea is that you'll be able to run your own farm in both Single and MultiPlayer. Singleplayer will be just like any other farming game with grass, wheat and forestry. Multiplayer will be more about competitiveness. You can compete against another farm with up to 32 players. You'll be able to buy machinery and the more you harvest the more money you get.

Make the farmers be able to compete in different ways, hire farm hands, even add a small town with a farm store, grocery store, some houses, a gas station and, a gun shop :) have the farmers be able to raid each others farms and have farm hands do the dirty work, or jump in your self! it would be just like the good old days, where people had to compete in many different ways, legal, and illegal.

Just a good idea i came up with off the top of my head, btw, nice mod! keep it up, and see if you can put my sug. to good use!

Ooh, quick thought. I was looking at the pics and imagining what the game would be like to play. Since the setting is tropical, would crops like sugarcane and cocoa be available? Or even somewhat less legal crops? *ahem*cocaine

Can you imagine the gameplay possibilities that drug crops would bring to the table? Trafficking, evading authorities or bribing, etc. On the other hand, those things could overcomplicate the mod and may be completely outside of your intentions for the scope and spirit of the gameplay. Say, if you added drug crops, all the little suburban hoodlums would say "I'm Pablo Escobar!" and would not even try to grow anything else, missing out on much of the experience. Strangely reflective of what's going on in real life in places like Colombia and Afghanistan, no?

But yeah, I imagine your intended focus is on micromanging on the farm level and not turning it into a complex geopolitical simulator with a farming minigame. Although the large scale effects of local farming conditions and selection of crops would be cool (say, you focus on cash crops and then suddenly there is little food for the inhabitants of your island republic), I'd rather see this mod come out sometime this century. This is iFarm Mod, not Civ 5: Civilization in Crysis.

Finally, the first farming game since SimFarm that I won't even be slightly embarrased to play! *cough*HarvestMoon*cough* Little too cutesy for me, that one. And I only played Harvest Moon 64. From what I've read, the cutie-pie factor has only increased in subsequent iterations.

Looks great, can't wait to bomb around in that tractor!

I think there was a farming mod for Far Cry or Half life 2 once.

But i'm all for farming games, ever since I played the god old farming game otherwise known as "Harvest moon".

It'd be interesting to see this pulled off, especially multiplayer. It'd have to not be boring.

As "Pvt.B" said, it seems quite interesting.

I will, as well, track this mod.
