Israeli Defense Force: Fight for Independence is a Total Conversion modification for the PC game Battlefield 2 (A.K.A. BF2). What we aim to achieve with this mod is to immerse the player into the historic wars involving Israel, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, which are the 6-Day War, the War of Attrition, and the Yom Kippur War. The player will be able to play as a common soldier, crewmember, or pilot in these wars. The mod will feature historically accurate equipment such as the famous Russian AK-47, the fearsome SO-4050 bomber, the menacing IS3 and M48 tanks, and much, much more. Also, the maps will recreate actual battles that happened in these wars, to complete a historically-accurate and immersive modification. IDF:FFI is also a member of the acclaimed cooperative gaming studio Black Sand Studios.

I think historical accuracy is more important as long as the balance is not completley destroyed. Another way of balancing would be to give Arabs advantage in an other kit.

That's true. Thanks for the feedback. Maybe we will give the Arab assault troops more hand grenades or satchel charges.

One thing, if you do decide to give them the grenade launcher, cut a hole in the grip, the first models of GP-25, were called "BG-15" and had a hole in the grip like this. 9-pota.sakura.ne.jp

Given the fact this thing do not need to be set up, has a better RoF (You don't need to put a blank round in the chamber every time before firing it) and a better warhead, this thing will acutally might break the game balance if implemented.

IMO you sould ditch the whole rifle grenade concept. The Israeli one takes too long to be set up and use whie the GP-25 is just too damm good at its job.

You know you could have one magazine full of blanks, say with some blue tape on it so you know which one it is, that would greatly speed up the rate of fire of the rifle grenades.

A full magazine= more weight.

Not to mention one has to rack the bolt manually every time he fires a grenade anyway (You have seal of the gas valve before firing meaning the gas piston won't reciprocate) so carrying a extra mag filled with blanks are more of a liability than an asset.

Thanks for the feedback guys. What gave me the idea was the rifle grenades in FH2. I always liked them, they were very unique. But they only gave them to you in small amounts or as a special pickup.

This AK is Type I AK47. It was mostly phased out for the favor of AKM since 1960's. Are there any plans on updating the weaponry?

Description

The GP-25 Kostyor ('Bonfire') is an Russian under-barrel grenade launchers for the AK-series of assault rifle. They were first seen by the west during the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan.

I am debating whether to include this or not. I didn't know the GP-25 was developled so late, only being issued in the late 1970's. From a historical stand point we would not include it because it was not used during the Yom Kippur War. But from a gameplay/balance point of view I would like to include it to give the Arab armies assualt class a grenade launcher.

Let me know what you think. Should we include it or not?
