Okay guys, I saw this video on Youtube, showing off a modded map of Los Santos. It looked great, there was overgrown vegetation everywhere, abandoned cars, it looked just like I Am Legend the movie, except, obviously, it was in Los Angeles.

So it's been what, a year? And no news about the map. I've never made a mod before, and so I thought, "Why don't I give a crack at it? It can't be THAT hard." Surprise to me! It was much harder than I thought. So this is why people weren't cranking out mods by the second. And with that realization, I give new admiration and appreciation to all modders.
Any ways, I set about to modify the map of Los Santos in the goal to make it as close to the video or the movie as possible. Overgrown vegetation, destroyed cars, damaged sections of the city, etc, to get the feel of an abandoned city. I'm starting out in Grove Street, at CJ's house, and I'll expand from there. I plan to modify the entirety of Los Santos, than the Los Santos countryside, Las Venturas, Las Venturas Desert, San Fierro countryside, than San Fierro, if I don't give up by then. I am new to modding, and this is my first project, but I will finish Los Santos. That is a promise. I don't give up easy.
I have no idea how to script or model, so I plan to use these mods to supplement my mod. I wasn't able to reach the authors (I was too lazy to contact them), so here is a list of links to their mods:

(I claim no credit for the car and weather, I already asked permission from the authors to use them in my pictures. Their authorization is still pending. Their mods will NOT be in my final mod)
I have NO idea how to script or model. There will be no new weapons, clothes, cars, missions, just a new map. HOWEVER, if I can get some support, maybe make a little team, maybe we can start something.
Please be patient, I'm new at modding, and I still need to learn along the way.

Okay guys, I figure I'd update this mod with news every week. Not alot to say this week though.
I've got good news and bad news.
1. Bad News - I accidentally deleted my progress withe map about four days ago.
2. Good News - I restarted my map, and I have to say it is coming together better than my first version. I've done alot of things I would of liked to done in version 1, but couldn't. I've made more progress, and it's looking very good.
I've also decided to use my beta map as a sort of combo to give a look at what all of San Andreas will eventually look like. For example, the environments in my beta map will be much more varied.
I've played a couple times with all the mods and maps working together, and I got to say a vampire attacking you in the tall grass is really fucking scary. Expect a release somewhere next year.

Oh i have some suggestions. You should make it so that you get hungry and die if you don't eat so you have to search for food. You can go into houses to search for food and weapons. You can make barricades and traps. When you go into a house there will be a chance that there is an infected there. You can go into big buildings and there will be a lot of infected there but there will also be good loot. And you can make any house your safe house and you can barricade that house so they cant get in. So thanks for your time and if you wanted to do some of these than please do (But if you cant than its alright) =) Thank you for reading.

Oh My GOD!!!! This is gonna be the best mod ever. I keep checking back like every hour to see if released like a demo or the full mod. Oh and is there any way you could release a demo to give us a little taste of what is coming.
Oops, didnt notice, you planned to get some mods in the first place! lol. Sorry for the uselessness! Either way, the best of luck to you, this is a hell of a project to tackle for your first mod. I wouldnt be surprised if you DID pull it off though, you seem MUCH more determined than any of the other mods Ive encountered being based on IAL. I would help, but I dont know jack about modding, unfortunately. For San Andreas at least. I hope to figure out how I could help soon, and I will post a comment saying I can. I dont know how I can help, but Ill see what I can do.

I'm actually a little relieved to see some more feedback from the community. Work has been slow the last couple of weeks, but your comments gave me the jolt I needed to get this thing online!
There are plenty of I am Legend script mods out there, on Gta garage there is one in fact. If I was you, Id talk to who ever made that mod, and see if you cant negotiate him/her to join your mod team. There are two problems left, simplistically anyways, youd really only need to worry about, skins, and the attack of the player by darkseekers. There are a plethura of zombie skins floating around as well, I guess if you got the full permission of the authors of those, you could just package those in as well, but from what Ive read, you dont want to take the cheap way out, so I guess taking the time to find someone interested would pay off, in terms of skins. I hope to see this mod succeed. There have been so many people who have attempted to bring this sort of thing to life, and just faded away, I hope this doesnt happen here! Best of luck to you.
