Hyrule: Total War is a conversion for Medieval 2: Total War. A vast majority of the iconic races from the Zelda universe have been represented as armies that the player can assemble, command, and ultimately use to destroy their enemies. The Hero of Time has chosen to return to the past, a choice that ultimately has ruined the charts of history and sent Hyrule into chaos. Major wars that were already decided have unmade themselves, allowing fallen armies a second chance at these critical events in Hyrule's history. This is where you, the player, comes in. You shall choose how to rewrite the history of Hyrule. Do you stick with the proper path and smite the evil in the land in the name of the Goddesses? Or perhaps you feel that the Hylians have overstayed their welcome as masters of the land and would rather the Gerudo forces of Ganondorf lead Hyrule into a new age leadership? Maybe you feel it's time that the Gorons march from their mountain kingdoms and rebuild their long lost empire, smashing anyone who opposes their will? On the other hand, you might fall in favor of fighting for the Zora Dominion and cleansing the land of imperfect creatures and establishing a new order of purity. Perhaps the forces of nature have won you over, and you would see to it that the Kokiri and beings of the forest rise to power? Or maybe you would act against nature, and infest and consume all life as the infestation of Gohma... There are many races to choose from, and many possible outcomes to your actions. Hyrule's fate is now in your hands. Will you lead it to a golden age of peace, or dominate it in your name?

If anyone is at all knowledgeable about bug fixing with Medieval 2: Total War, please get in contact with me.

I am insanely overwhelmed with hundreds of crash logs and bug reports, and despite my best efforts I cannot seem to get any other individuals to help with this massive, massive load of work. I'm near wit's end trying to fix these bugs and it's gotten to the point where I have gotten zero progress done on finishing the mod because I'm spending all my time getting nowhere with bug-fixing.

It works for the CD version as well, you'll just have to change the location the game installs if you use the CD version.

I can't really understand how you could get to 4.0 in this state... well, finally it doesn't crash every 5 seconds, ok. but, after 30 turns: not one enemy came to my lands, not even a diplomat; I have never received a mission; I haven't got new characters; I have improved ports 4 times and I still can't make ships. I would really like to play and enjoy this mod, but it is disappointing...

- Depending on what faction you play as some other factions might not be inclined to attack you (if you have a large standing army) or be diplomatic with you (if the faction's AI is isolationist such as the Fairies)
- You need at least two more cities relative to the characters you already have in order to get more. So if you have four characters, you need six or more cities to trigger adopting a new character.
- There are no ships in the game, just trade fleets for Lanayru Province.

- This mod is done entirely by one person. It's an insanely massive effort that has taken seven years to get to this point. It takes hundreds upon hundreds of hours to animate and render cinematics, hundreds of hours to create each and every single model, create all their custom animations, and double that time to look at crash logs and bug fix. Without help I probably have over two decades of work left to do.

Neph did remove all the scripted events because they were unstable.

Having a bit of an issue with the Hot fix. When i run the installer it doesn't successfully launch. I get a loading wheel and three instances of Hyrule_Hotfix.exe *32 in the task manager (even though i only clicked once). Additionally, I cannot force any of these instances to end using task manager, but must restart to clear them.

I have tried re-downloading twice, and tried launching as an admin to no avail. I'm not overlooking something silly am I?

I'm not sure why it would do that. Did the 4.0 installer work or did it also have the same problem? If you cant get it to work, here's the files to be manually put in: Dropbox.com

Thanks for the drop box link.

Initially 4.0 showed similar behavior, but I believe the download had been interrupted, essentially leaving me with a partial file. After a second download it installed just fine. As far as i can tell anyway.
