How's this? You can't play as mod race against not-mod race.
Hiliyan AI spams with errors(for everyone?), use Petra.

Make sure you're running the latest version of 0AD

You must have installed it incorrectly. None of the 0ad factions should be playable.

are we not suppose to use vanilla factions?

No, just the Kingdom of Hyrule and the Gerudo. You probably have the Load Order wrong. 0AD should be above Hyrule Conquest in the mod load list, not below.

Switch the load order around. If you enable both AD and Hyrule in the mod manager, Hyrule should be on the bottom. Otherwise it loads both with the original taking more control. It causes a ton of errors if both are loaded and most of the Gerudo/Hylian textures glitch out a massive amount (It also disables leaders and a few other things).

playable on mac and linux also. You just need to use a emulator like wine to install the contents of the mod into a folder to then c + p into the correct directory

The mod needs to be installed in 0AD's "mods" folder. You might have 0AD installed in a different location then the default. Try searching for this location: 0 A.D. alpha\binaries\data\mods\

could you make a manual installation zip for your mod, so other os's can use it?
There is no need for a .exe really since manual install is so easy XD.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+4 votes

The reasoning is mostly file size. This mod is eventually going to to get up to a pretty big file size (The total ear version is at 7 gigs). Moddb has a file size limitation and zips will not be able to compress such huge sizes.

I figured out how to get the file contents for mac. You simply use a wine wrapper to run the .exe and install it to a folder on your desktop to copy and paste into the correct directory

I have the exact same issue as the poster above, it happens every single time I try to start a match.
It says something about maps dump stacks (no idea what that means, I have zero understanding in programing), that it can not find them.
the faction selections gets over 300 hundred scrolling red errors and never seems to end registering them until I close everything.

I am not sure at all. My technological skills are below abysmal.
What it is most strange is the fact the I can play basic 0ad without a single problem.
I can offer my experience, for all that it is worth.

I installed everything in accordance with the default folders and specifications from the installers of both 0ad and hyrule conquest. The menu, music and images were exactly as shown in your videos, but as soon as I selected a match it failed to load anything beyond the menu screen. It was filled with hundreds of red errors.

I tried to install hyrule conquest in different folders beyond the data sub folder in the main 0ad folder (mod, mods, user, public). Nothing worked. Sometimes the mod was not even selectable in the tools menu in 0ad. Other times, it appeared more than once.

I deleted and changed the default destination for 0ad, then tried to install hyrule conquest in the subfolders of the new 0ad folder. I had the exact same results as before(sometimes not even tha main 0ad engine appeared, it was solely the tools and mods screen in blank).

I reinstalled both programs as an administrator, using the default folders and specifications. I had the exact same result as the first time installation, a complete functional menu alongiside a never ending red barrage of errors as soon as I selected a match.

After finding and downlading the zip version of the mod, I tried to follow the instruction posted in wildfire forums by Nescio:

Download the mod, extract the zip, and place it in your /0ad/mods/ folder:
GNU/Linux (e.g. Fedora) typically: ~/.local/share/0ad/mods/
Macintosh/Apple OS X typically: ~/Library/Application\Support/0ad/mods/
Microsoft Windows typically: ~\Documents\My Games\0ad\mods\
Launch 0 A.D., click “Tools & Options” and “Mod Selection”
Select the mod, click “Enable” and “Save Configuration”
Add, remove, or move up or down any other mods, click “Save Configuration” and “Start Mods”
Click “Learn To Play” and “Structure Tree” to see the mod(s) implemented.

Once again, functional menu but red errors after a a match selection.

Finally, I tried to use the hyrule conquest installer but specifying the documents/my games/0ad/mods direction. I had the same exact results as before.

I can only think of 5 possibilities, from most to least likely:

1.-I have absolutely no clue at what I am doing wrong.
2.-My graphic card can handle 0ad but not the mod.
3.-My windows vista can handle 0ad but not the mod.
4.-My cpu can handle 0ad but not the mod.
5.-The mod is broken.

It sounds like you probably had it installed in the proper location, especially if it shows up in the mod selection menu.

When you enable Hyrule Conquest in the mod selection menu, is 0AD also enabled and above Hyrule Conquest in the list? Some people are disabling 0AD and only running Hyrule Conquest. Hyrule needs 0AD in order to run.

Yes, 0ad is enabled and on top of Hyrule conquest.
I have spent all day moving around the installers all over my pc. Nothing works, same stream of errors every single time. I admit defeat, it's impossible on this pc.
I'll wait until I have a better computer and a more finished Hyrule conquest, I don't mind wating 6 or more months.
Please continue doing your awesome work!

I've found out the problem. In your mod folder for Hyrule, search for these two files in the maps folder: skirmishes.DELETED and scenarios.DELETED. Delete both files and the Match menu should run. Unfortunately you'll have to cycle through 0AD's maps to find the Hyrule maps.

Actually the event handler number doesn't mean anything because it keeps changing. It's just stuck on loading map. I have a very high powered computer so I'm unsure on the error :/

Does 0AD on its own run on your PC?

The one thing that kept puzzling me was that everytime I deleted and reinstalled 0ad and hyrule conquest a folder named Hyrule appeared on its own inside the mods subfolder, alongside the user, public and mod subfolders, but every single time it was totally empty. (This was also true in the documents/my games/0ad/mods direcrion).

Easy-peasy explanation:
Game stores settings in application data folder, not in main one. If you deleted it manually( 0AD developers made PROPER uninstaller, right? >_< So annoying in other games) mod was left enabled in the settings. Because of some reasons, if game can't find folder of enabled mod, it creates it itself. That's it.
Proper installation: somedisk:\0 A.D. alpha\binaries\data\mods\Hyrule
Hyrule is folder with technical folders and uninstall.exe.

I have tried that already, several times in fact.
No luck unfortunately.

The mod is working perfectly, the only issue i had was when i arranged the mod, it's important to put 0 ad then hyrule conquest so it can work properly.

As for the mod itself, amazing job, i love how the gerudo handle, feel, look and sound.

I found a glitch with the Gerudo oasis, it doesn't heal even tho it says it does. Besides that everythign else seems to be running well.

The Oasis only heals if you select Riju as your hero and research the Desert Haven at the Palace. For some reason 0AD shows Auras and abilities on units even before they are researched.

I am literally shivering right now,Gonna miss the turnbased strategic world map look from medeval total war. Nevertheless I love RTS as well so it is a mixed bag for me to be honest to see this shift but it is welcomed. (discovered 0 ad because of this moved and I am very hyped)

So I get the following error every time I try to load the game. In my mod list: 0 A.D is above Hyrule. That was the only way I could get it to load the mod.

Much to our regret we must report the program has encountered an error.

Please let us know at Trac.wildfiregames.com and attach the crashlog.txt and crashlog.dmp files.

Details: unhandled exception (PSERROR_Game_World_MapLoadFailed("Failed to load map.
Check application log for details."))

Location: unknown:0 (RtlUnicodeStringToInteger)

Call stack:

(error while dumping stack: No stack frames found)
errno = 0 (No error reported here)
OS error = 0 (no error code was set)

There we go! That fixed it.

I feel that it should be noted for the record books. Loading a non-mod map freaks out the game.

In the next version of the game I'll hopefully have this issue fixed, apparently removing 0AD maps makes the game freak out on windows 8 and 10.
