This is very much possible. It's thoughts like these that were part of the backbone that started this whole project.

Believe me when I say people will see new things. It will be a new game on the same engine.

You mean you are going to create new static objects,
with some new entities.

They're not using the Source engine.
Ok HPL2 Engine allmost sounds as if it's related to HL2 somehow, but it's certainly not.

Beside that, it would be possible to create this scene in the Source engine as well.
Ofc. it might not look exactly as good as in an engine that supports lightmapped props.
