The goal of this mod is to bring back the units from the original Homeworld into the Homeworld 2 engine, with high quality texture and polycount detail. The campaign and animatics from the original game will also be included.

Well,The last days have been ... interesting:

  • GEARBOX appeared and took the HW IP. The funeral is cancelled. Let's see what comes ahead;
  • BLACKBIRD started the pre-sales phase of HARDWARE:SHIPBREAKERS, a great game coming soon;
  • FX-MOD published new material with Taiidani and Turanic ships. It's impressive and promising.

On our MOD, we started to study how to develop the Kushan campaign. It was proposed to Moleman to join us once he is studying SP missions for his MOD. So we are all over finishing the Turanic Raiders ships and structures for M1 and M2, recovering speech files, tons and tons of codings and tweakings.

In parallel, we started moving on from SugarSync to SVN/Tortoise as a management system for the project. If we approve, which is most likely, SVN's version numbering system will be adopted. It will also help us sum up better the changes from one release to another.

We've suspended/changed the next release. We haven't stopped working on it. We need to study and establish the research trees, the research ships game-play and behavior. And the Youtube VIDEOS will be displayed at moddb too.

1) In original game you could colour your ships. I mean campaign of course. It is unlikely, but still: would you do it?
2) Still, as all ships are the same will changes be that big? Or it's technically impossible to have 2 campaigns?
3) Special frigates. Just curious: how you'll make them work? Drones, for example. I'm not sure if HW2 allows, or do it?
4) Squadrons or single ships? Crafts. Whatever.
5) Support frigates. They definitely won't work the old way.

So, that was questions. Now... I can help with 2d graphic if you need. I'm not perfect, but still capable. Also can help with badges if you need any.

Sorry for all the time it took me to reply, I am no scriptwriter, I do not have any skills in modding nighter how to mod. but I do know that a remake of HW1 wont be complete unless fuel is included as well as other things that make HW unique.

Remember that the Bandit Class Interceptor is a space superiority fighter, it has many years of improvement, it should be the ship which can fly longer than any other strikecraft weather you compare to other races strikecraft or Raider Corvettes.

By the way I think Fuel is a good thing to add, this mod would probably be the first one doing it if succeeded. My idea is to use the sheld bar and it would start depleting if the ships start moving and stay when the ships stop, or making each ship to have a maximum flight length and when that is reached they loose between 90-99% of their speed, you decide how much.

Because in HW1 it was only called fighter and I think that it fits best because, it is not really about calling it for it's name really, what I think would be best is naming it Fighter ingame and in the description mention that it is a Bandit class Interceptor and some of it's qualities as well as something about them. Because Bandit class Interceptors really have stories behind them
