The goal of this mod is to bring back the units from the original Homeworld into the Homeworld 2 engine, with high quality texture and polycount detail. The campaign and animatics from the original game will also be included.

Ah, the wonderful first mission... balancing your money between building your first fighters and corvettes and keeping some to build those first eight salvage corvettes :).

best to mix in some repair vettes with the salvs actually to heal them up etc.

Never had to, uber micro ftw :p

Edit: Of course, it might be possible that in the mod the AI learned a few new tricks, that would be a different matter then :D.

Repair corvettes were needed to get all six. Even if you use scout to distract most, there will still be some attacking. And it was the second, the first served as a supplementary tutorial.

I know, but I always counted the "second mission" as being the actual first one.

I have played the campaign a good dozen times and apart from the first two or so tries I always got all six cold sleep chambers without repair corvettes. And all four frigates (Yes, you only get three in the end but you know how I mean it). You just have to act fast and do some micro. Maybe sacrifice a fighter or two, but that's it. The first container will be burning and smoking in the end, but I usually don't lose it. First occasion where I need repair corvettes is in mission 3... erm 4 if I count the tutorial.

I only successfully saved all six cryo pods in mission three once. Other times I "saved" the six pods, but the game refused to progress once the last pod docked with the mothership.

Yeah I know the bug. Happend to me twice, really annyoing since you can basically restart the mission afterwards (well thankfully it isn't a long mission :p). Thankfully there is hope stuff like this won't happen in HW Remastered.

And hopefully the AI will be smart enough so I actually have to build stuff other than repair and salvage corvs (hell I had 200something frigs and a good 50 cruisers once when entering the last mission. It almost cost me the mothership cause my frigates wanted to take formation in some faraway corner before attacking the enemy ships)

Such a troll title lmfao, we all know what happens when in the HW1 campaign, save stuff like this to herald the coming of the actual mod. Which regardless, I presume is not long?

To think the word troll had no internet meme attached to it when Homeworld 2 was released...

Those were good days.

Ach, you make missions from HW1 too? I need this...

Hey, will Salvage Corvette the same function? (Take, transport to MS and object is captured) Or immediately capture, only limits for unit class(two corvette to immediately capture enemy frigate, 3 for destroyer etc. )

All I needed was one Salvage Corvette and a bunch of Interceptors with a few Light Corvettes.

Only think I hate is the message. Is that exactly what was said in Homeworld 1? I seem to remember it being "They're attacking... The mothership is under attack." and that that fits her tone and voice perfectly. Just a bit of OCD on my part, but well, the punctuation can change the context way too much. :P

Well, you might be right, i don't know if mole used the speech files from hw1 or if he did it by ear...

The subtitles are exactly as they were in Homeworld 1, the punctuation is the same as well, although I have questioned how it was as well considering the voice doesn't match the punctuation, I kept it the same though for re-mastering sake but we can go through afterwords and make the proper changes that would be vocally correct.

Some of the lines in the Garden and Kathedral of Kadesh missions had mismatching dialogue and subtitles too.
