Uh... I'm not sure I quite get this. "1.000.000 downloads and up to 3000 contacts per days" tells us nothing other than a selling point. Please put up a real description of what this mod is supposed to do.
hi folks!
well, as reaction to ghostnpc's comment i will try to give him a little summary about the features of complex version 7.1, i hope Beghins might put something similar in the features-section, i think that is where it should be to give the guests at moddb some information without searching the forums :-)
- massively extended tech tree with new options an specialities
- many new ships (new ships, ship variants), stations, platforms and modules to fullfil different tactical needs
- many new weapons an effects for the new ship types
- redone resource management and new ways for resource gathering (collecting debris, mining base, trade containers)
- introduction of a crew-resource (pilots & officers)
- introduction of a rank-system which gives you access to more advanced technologies as the game proceeds
i know that are just a few words, so i suggest everyone should give it a try, its worth it. but beware, you may need some time to get familiar with it and the AI may kick your b*** in the first games!
you will have an extraordinary new HW2-experience, thats for sure ;-)
so i just want to thank Beghins and the whole Complex-Team for this masterpiece.
greetz from austria, zemst
anyway, on a more pleasing note, is there a way 2 download the 7.1 release without signing up 2 yet another forum that al probably spend little time on other that 2 download this file? am not complaining as such, a just hate typing out the same stuff 4 sign ups over and over again. lol.
Yeah, making us sign up on the forum is stupid. It's not like half of us are going to do anything with the forum. If we really like the mod, we'll sign up AFTER we've played it.
Didn't we have this dicussion before? why not uploading 7.1 on moddb?!? what else can can happen instead of complex becomming more popular within the community?
overreacting dev is overreacting.
THANX ALOT HONG NOOB MAN >:(
U DONT DESERVE TO LIVE!!!!
Thx. 'Preciate that.
Yell at Beghins. He removed the link.
Well, dear Hong Kong, you're not allowed to post direct links for the download.
Considering what happened during last months let me say what will happen now:
-I've just erased the download.
-I'm going to post a message in the Complex forum and I will explain that someone at moddb (you in this case) is posting links and I'm forced to stop the download, keep in mind thet in the Complex forum there're more then 4100 registered users who are waiting for this release.
I think here, as always, some moderators are needed.
My request is always the same, give me the ability to cancel Complex from here, it's the first hour of release, and I'm just wasting time to manage this site.
Using the forums as a point of distribution is still a losing proposition, since people could post download links anywhere. You could counter by closing it to registrations and removing the moddb page, but people could share accounts, post rapidshare links, etc and you'd be ensuring the death of interest in the mod since no new users would find out about it (and with the exception of a few hardcore fans, many current users will be driven away by drama of this sort). Its not a big deal to me either way, but I hate to see people get too upset over downloading a HW2 mod. It's just a game.
