Hi everyone! In one word, I am a n00b. I don't know how to modify anything except txt, even though I've been playing Homeworld series for so many years...Homeworld 2 is the summit of this series and I love it very much, I've been dreaming to have my own mod for Homeworld 2. However, I am a n00b. A n00b is someone who doesn't know anything about extracting big files or editing models in Maya, or everything else told by other modders which trully puzzled me. I actually thought that maybe there would never be my own mod for Homeworld 2.
Then, many years later, a mod gave me a hope. I downloaded Homeworld 2 Complex 8 beta 0.9, and found it completely decompiled and could be edited in NotePad... I was so excited that I couldn't wait to edit it in my own way.
So, regarding my first attempt to create a mod for Homeworld 2, don't be surprised if you find me ruin the epic Complex mod, which could be the best Homeworld 2 mod ever... (As a n00b, I've played almost every Homeworld 2 mod listed on ModDB.) Just regard this as a n00b's practice (with NotePad), and this is the story of a n00b...
Finally, give all my sincere thanks to the Complex team, maybe I would never know how Homeworld 2 works if I hadn't met this mod, let alone modifying it by myself. For the reason that I must type a name for my mod on ModDB, I decided to call it SIMPLE, because my works are too simple comparing to the source code of COMPLEX...

The "sperm frigates" were part of Homeworld itself. They also appeared in the first game. and they were just a pain in the a** >.>

I don't think the Dreadnaught can easily die in Mission 10, because it takes at least 2 Light Granules for the Progenitor to kill it, and this shouldn't happen in the cutscene. When your Dreadnaught is hit by a Light Granule for the first time, immediately initiate a hyperspace jump to teleport it right into the central area of your fleet, then use all your capital ships surrounding the Dreadnaught as meat shield to defend it against further Light Granule attacks, while sending Patchers to repair the damage. When the Progenitor runs out of energy, they can no longer launch more Light Granules, then you can safely move the Dreadnaught to the Bentusi.

Great mod so far, but I have encountered some rather silly issues. One major problem was during Mission 08, fighting around the Dreadnought Berth, I lost 3 destroyers and 2 cruisers due to the game not knowing how to deal with their speed and they rammed the berth head on trying to catch the even faster Progenitor drones. That may be the biggest issue with this mod, ships are so blasted fast the game cannot handle it anymore, the movers sometimes just ram each other or fly off the map entirely, I often deal with friendly fire taking out more of my ships than the enemy since they fly into each other's ranges too fast... Plus the movers are all produced at 1/5th of their health and come out with red healthbars.

Now the main reason to post this is that I am stuck. Mission 08, only 5 of the 6 required Movers connect with the Dreadnought, the rest hovers around it or tries to take over the Berth, meaning I cannot progress anymore. The Keeper hasn't shown up again and I don't seem to be able to finish the game like this.

Select 6 movers, right click on the Dreadnaught, it definitely works. Once the Dreadnaught is moved, the Keeper will hyperspace in again and attack you.

I'll try to prevent the Movers from flying out of map, but I won't reduce the speed of other ships. You'll have some options to reduce the ship speed in skirmish custom settings, but then you will see the need to maintain that high speed in the campaign so you can defend your objectives as quickly as possible.

Actually, you shouldn't throw a bunch of driving upgraded destroyers into a dogfight with Progenitor drones around an enemy megalith and just watch them fight. If you anticipate any collision, you are responsible for keeping everything in control. You are supposed to give your ships wiser orders (such as using the waypoint mode) in situations like this.

OK! I just figured out a way to reroute it. In the next version, the Mothership and the 4 stations should be able to continue to build even if they are docked to the Strategic Shipyard.

There's a built-in game type description, you just need to click the "question mark" button on the left of your game type options as these two screenshots show:

Basically, every type has its own starting fleet and settings. Besides Simplex Custom and Simplex Territories, all the other game types don't give you many options to customize your game -- all the other invisible options are just fixed. For example, Simplex Tactical has very difficult settings and makes the match very slow, while Simplex Carnage makes the battle much more fierce. You can find all these settings in Simplex Custom. Simplex Territories, on the other hand, is a completely different story, it's really another mod (called "Territories Mod") implemented in this mod.

This is an awesome mod, specially when all you want is to overkill your enemies with DAKKA and Overpower lol. No really, i like this mod, i love the intensified number of weapons in every ship, however i dont like mods that focus on blowing up everything to the hell using as main feature Overpowered ships and weapons. Since i'm a strategy and tactics lover and i like much more when the battles are prolongued and my units suvirvability depends of the orders that i give them and not by the number…

The Graphics or this mod are great to look at but when it comes to playing it feels like just a giant troll, with crazy lag, ships "swimming in space and large capital ships moving faster then the small interceptor class ships. If the game breaking lag and troll effects like the "fishes" when taken out or worked on the mod could reach a 5 in my book.
