This looks interesting, though I haven't actually tried it.

Is there an official forum somewhere?

Thanks Guys 1- the enemies are the way they are it is for reason, not technical reason, but i agree they are a bit unconvincing in some ways, but they are not the main issue of the game, more like supportive characters, you will find out when you get the whole story. 2- the sound - no sounds will be added, i do agree about inside sounds, breath, even changing depending on the way your character behaves and some steps trough the suit, also some steam on the glass was in plan, but someone got to program this, and we do not have this someone for like more then year.

Thanks again for the support and comments.

One of the things your mod shares with Half-Life 2 is a sense of immersion. The level design is such that things don't seem to be just thrown in to make it look pretty--they're functional for the people inside this fictional world as well.

I also really like the idea of an FPS that is more adventure game than shooter, so I think the notes that are left behind are a great incentive for the player to keep going. On the flip side of that coin, the alien encounters seem to detract from the experience in my opinion, because the AI is so poor that it's like a constant reminder that I'm playing a game, removing the immersion aspects. I prefer the puzzle-oriented play, moving cranes and shifting boxes in order to discover what exactly is going on in the base. Obviously you need something to fill the space between puzzles, but I'm not sure blasting aliens fits the atmosphere this mod is going for.

I have to say the suit and rover HUDs and the black and white approach is the best thing for the game so far, but part of me agrees that some sound is needed. I like the claustrophobic feeling, but at the same time I think you could add in something like the rustling of the astronaut's body inside the suit, or his breathing, that could get heavier at certain trigger points, and still achieve the same effect.

I really like your mod, idea and all is very good. Its a shame you cant complete it fast enough for us fans here though. IMHO if this mod was done the right way, it could be considered art more than an actual game. Anyone get the floydian impression on this mod?

I played a lot of UT2K4 mods 'back in the day' and this one left the biggest impression on me. I wish you all the best for the future of your mod. Maybe some day I'll reinstall UT2K4 to play the full version of Hollow Moon. ;)

Hey! Thanks a lot for commenting, really it's important to us.

First of all - we are not dead - just very slow. We are only two people on the mod so you can understand how hard it is, and we've promised the mod at the beginning of this year and didn't keep it but we just weren't satisfied with the results. We work not only on the new map which is just being polished, but also the old maps to fix minor things to go better.

regarding the music - Part of the idea is to make the music detached from the events, Sorry if it annoys some people but we will have to keep it that way. But we try to make it longer and more interesting now so it won't loop to much.

Thanks again, your comments keep us "alive".

I have to offer my congrats on this one, this is the first game that actaully come close to the genre that i find unnerving.. From playing the mod i can appreciate the lack of sound, it works pretty well and i understand why you have done it..but i would say that instead of looping the music, get it to react to the players actions? I found myself spinning around occasionally when the louder sections kicked in, expecting something to be appearing behind me and being somewhat disappointed. :p
And i noticed in the intro there is a radio that picks up a lot of static, as some dont like the silence of the game, might it be worth adding this into the game, random messages from human..and alien sources might add to the atmosphere a little.
I dont know, a few suggestions, very good so far ;)
