"In The Grim Darkness Of The Far Future There Is Only War" Warhammer 40k is set in a Universe where no one is safe from the horrors of space. The Imperium of man struggles to hold its borders or protect its citizens from the the alien, the mutant and the heretic. The human race is no longer a progressive race, most of the weapons and vehicles they use date back to the "Dark age of Technology" long before the days of the Emperor. Technological advance is at standstill and much has been forgotten, never to be recovered. In this dark millenia danger lurks behind every corner, and it is the holy duty of the Inquisition to guard and purge the threats within and without the Imperium. Take the role of Malachias Kane, Young Inquisitor under the command of Lord Inquisitor Dante, warring agains the notorious Chaos sorcerer Bathomeos. It is your mission to rendevouz with allies, and deliver the final piece to the plan to bring the Chaos scum under the Emperor's hammer.
So, we haven't updated for quite some time soo I thought to give you people a peek at what we've making in the animation department. Familiarising myself with vertex weights I've found a new depth in animations and model rigging. Hard as it is, possibilities are limitless. So thought it is only 7 seconds of mirth for you, hopefully you can imagine how awesome it will be when finished. :D
Progress is slow, but steady.
Emperor protects
Ah I would love to see it :( But its currently processing...
Here you go. :D
Looks good! Keep up the good work.
This update was worth waiting for, was looking forward to seeing animations. Thanks!
Thanks! I actually got the marine rigged this morning and hopefully get some animating done and begin rigging the other characters we have ready.
It's good, just keep working on it.
I like this. Even though Its just a simple animation it shows what could be done.
I have always thought, that marines move with a quickness that belies the fact they are in heavy armour. Does that make sense? From books and source stories they can move quick but I always thought they would move slow but steady with a purpose.
I dont know if that made any sense, but good luck with that animations and rest of the mod :)
Emperor Protects.
It makes a lot of sense! Marines are indeed said to be capable to move their bulky for in inhuman speed and strength. This due their greatly improved physical fitness that the armor itself improves.
It is not called power armor for fun, because if the armor isn't powered up, the marine can't do much with it. It is the armor that gives the marine the strength to fight in it. In the story we'll try to give some insight into the Space Marines superhuman prowess, even tho they don't play so major role in it.
The difficulty we are facing here is that as we try to make the armor bulkier than on table top minis and go for look more like that on 40k art, it takes a lot of tweaking to make the model to clip itself as less as possible. It'd be easy if we'd let the hands and shoulders to just sink in the torso and so forth, but we aim to make it look more real. And that goes with all our models and counts a lot in time it takes to finish even one model.
If you want to make your mnarines look really bulky and awesome, then make sure they are really tall. At least two feet taller than a normal (unaugmented human) character. As in the fluff they are about 7 feet tall normally, and taller. Go by the artwork rather than the models I'd say.
Good luck brother.
Oh they'll be tall. :D Normal humans will be no more than shoulder height compared to them.
I can't watch because Flash isn't supported by the iPod Touch! Screw Apple. Well I'll watch it on a computer tomorrow. I'm sure the rigging is going very well!
