You are immersed in a very similar story to that of Half-Life. You will also notice a slightly better artificial intelligence and a new weapon model. 49 maps total. You will also notice a new obstacle course, there are always beginners ;-) This was originally created by Fresh (See readme for contact details)

This was surprisingly well-built, despite the lack of original textures and story (the ending was kinda underwhelming). Yeah, maybe some puzzles are weird and the enemies' health values are questionable, but overall experience was fun, and i hope it gets a remake one day. (Also, minor flaw: the viewmodels are both from gordon and adrian)

This was a pretty fun mod. The combat was fair and not stupidly difficult, as weapons, ammo, health and armor are not ungenerous. My only real complaint would be the unclear paths and lack of real plot. I noclipped quite a few times because I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to open a door/clear a path. There's basically no story beyond Freeman pushing buttons that blow everything up and the mod is finalized with a suck ending.

a very solid mod, considering that it was released a few months before HL2 in 2004. i'm going to keep this as short as possible since this wasn't uploaded by the creator anyway if i'm not mistaken.

Gameplay is a ton of fun, and the enemy number are always balanced. I think the HP of the grunts is nerfed as well, which makes them a lot easier to kill. And finally, there's always supplies when you need em, and there's always more than enough ammo to keep you going with guns blazing. I never felt as though a fight was unfair, every single one was fun for me!
One of the biggest flaws of the mod in my opinion are the puzzles, which are hard to go through because you have no idea on where you're supposed to go and why. The lighting didn't guide you to it either, and there was 1 case where I had to noclip because I couldn't find any clear way to proceed.

Visuals are decent. Although some areas are well detailed and others less so, but the detailing overall gets better and better as you progress through the game. so don't judge it from the first few minutes of playing. The aesthetics feel very unique and I started to really like them while I was playing this mod, both in outdoor and indoor areas.

Overall, this mod is definitely worth a try, it has a lot of unique things that make it stand out compared to other mods. It says it's a very similar story to that of Half-Life, and it isn't lying! It's more or less a fan re-creation of the original but with it's own unique style and aesthetics, which I absolutely love and it's something i've never seen before in a massive mod with over 20 maps! In fact, this mod has around 53 maps whereas the original Half-Life has 99! So it will surely keep you busy for at least a couple of hours!

Last-Life is Expansion Pack type of mod. You start your day by arriving at Black Mesa Research Facility via tram. Sadly, thinks doesn't go as planned and the chaos breaks down in the facility. Once you find your H.E.V. suit you start your way out step by step, visiting previously unseen areas of Black Mesa. Last-Life is filled with puzzles and hidden caches, so keep an eye out! The mod has 49 levels total plus the custom training level, all professionally made, with a few bugs here and there present. Custom pistol model is also present, sadly, you are going to run into problems with the hand models, with some of them being SD, HD or Opposing Force ones. You are also going to encounter a few bugs and glitches, which is why I would recommend you having a multiple save points made if you don't want to be cheating. Another complain would be, that while it's not stated anywhere, science personel as well as H.E.C.U. calls you Gordon Freeman. Overall, this is a decent mod with a decent level design and decent lenght.

Really great mod.

However, it for the most part a slog-fest of looking where good' ol Fresh hid the exit to an area.

Quite honestly, I never legit figured out all the puzzles- since I most bypassed them by using Speed-run techniques, eventhough I'm not speed running.

For the most part, it was fun if not a bit dragging at some points.
