General Information
Hitlers Underbelly is a World War Two Half-Life Two modification. Unlike most WW2 modifications for the Half-Life series, Hitlers Underbelly takes place on the Italian Front, which Winston Churchill called "Hitlers Soft Underbelly", hence the name of the mod.

We try to be as unique and different from other WW2 mods as possible, giving players a choice in what to play, and what to play as. Unlike most modifications, we differ from the traditional Germans vs. Americans, although they are included in Hitlers Underbelly. There are four teams: Italy, Germany, The Commonwealth, and The United States. This gives players a broader choice in what weapons they'll be able to use, instead of just the old Day of Defeat selection (although those weapons are included as well, it's a historical thing).

Unique Features
1) As I mentioned above, Hitlers Underbelly has four teams, not just two. This means players can choose something other than just the Americans and Germans, which should give those players a greater respect for other nations who fought in the Second World War.

2) Campaign style maps. All the maps are laid out in the historical pattern that they occurred. From the landings at Sicily, to the walk on Rome, you will relive The Battle for Italy, and see how a beautiful country and become so ravished with war.

3) Close Air Support can be called in by a Office. This means if the fighting gets too hot to handle, you can call in members of the air force to strafe sections of the map, riddling your enemy with bullets.

Game Play
Game play is rather strait forward and common in games today. There are various strong points in any given level, once all of those strong points are held by one team, the battle ends and the losing team gets pushed back to the next map in the campaign.

Its good to see that posistions are being filled, but there are still some posistions that need somebody in them. Hitlers Underbelly is calling on all weapons/character modelers, programmers, texture artists, and 2D artists to join the team! If you're interested in joining HU, please stop by the forums and show us some examples of your work.

I'd like to welcome Steiger (Lead Sound Engineer), Terminus (Lead Weapons Expert) and Handy/Speirs (Lead Historian. Their contributions will definatly be seen over the coming months =)

HU sounds great. Any mod that wants to be original has something going for it right there. There are campaign style maps and air support, which I loved about Enemy Territory. Also, four teams, which I don't think is very common. Control points are good too, but will there be a reinforcement queue as well? I always thought Battlefield would have been better with a choice of one or the other or both.
Anyway, seems like this will be good, provided you get some talented people working on it. I am looking forward to HU, so good luck!
