WELCOME TO HISTORICAL ADD-ON FOR COMPANY OF HEROES BLITZKRIEG MOD by Justforfun1. (Complete & full Version)

Very easy to install and extremely light (140 Mb), the Historical add-on is a complete cosmetic rework historically accurate based on the Normandy battle during the D-Day on June 6th 1944, the Historical add-on will take you into the Normandy battle and give you access to the real combat units who fought in Normandy, all the fake flags, symbols, icons are replaced by the accurate ones for a better game play experience, this Historical add-on is a visual/cosmetic change, your COH Blitzkrieg Mod game will remain untouched.

You will need to install manually the Historical data file to your Blitzkrieg Mod main folder game, just make sure to read the instructions below, or attached to the Historical add-on .Zip file.

This add-on will not touch any of your original game files, will not change the way you play Blitzkrieg, will not break anything from your beloved game, and will not slow down your online multi players gaming experience, also, and i really think its important for a lot of people here, you don't have to be an expert or a genius in informatics to install it.

* You need to have the latest Blitzkrieg Mod installed to your ORIGINAL Company of Heroes game,
for info the latest one is: Blitzkrieg V4.8.0.0. Complete Installer, plus the latest Blitzkrieg patch: Blitzkrieg V4.8.2.0 BKCMPV Patch Installer and your Steam account ( Steamcommunity.com ) updated before installing this add-on, this add-on also is made for the Originals and untouched Blitzkrieg Mod files, if you have customs files others than the originals ones this add-on "might" not work properly, im saying "might" because i tested also with custom files and its working so far...this add-on is FREE from bugs!

** Installation description:

Go to your COH Main directory file and find your main Blitzkrieg file, in the main Blitzkrieg file you need to add the « Data » Historical add-on folder in your main Blitzkrieg Mod folder.

Directions:
c:/Program Files(x86)-->
SteamSteam Apps-->Common-->Company of Heroes Relaunch-->Blitzkrieg, Normaly in the Blitzkrieg folder you should have some files like: "Archives" - "BKCMPatch_V" - "BKCMPatchInstalled" - "Locale" (If you don't have that i suggest that you update your Blitzkrieg Mod) its in there that you need to add the Historical add-on "Data" folder, if you don't want this add-on anymore in your game just remove the Historical data file from your Blitzkrieg Mod main folder, easy!

***
If you have some trouble with some texture,
it means that your Blitzkrieg Mod isn't up to date or your installation isn't well done, or you have with the time some corrupted files, i suggest that you uninstall your Blitzkrieg Mod game and reinstall it from scratch with the latest version, Blitzkrieg V4.8.0.0. Complete Installer + Blitzkrieg V4.8.2.0 BKCMPV Patch Installer + the Historical add-on folder, sometimes a good cleaning is necessary to keep a Mod in excellent shape and in a perfect state of work, especially when you patched or updated successively the Mod for a while even with his official originals files, the add-on is working perfectly and if you have troubles do what i just said first before posting "bugs", i repeated again, there is absolutely no bugs in this add-on.

Special thanks to Relic entertainment for their legendary RTS game Company of Heroes
, i really hope they will let us improve their COH2 and gave us the right tools to modify the game in the right way like the Blitzkrieg Mod team did!, Special thanks also to the Blitzkrieg Mod team who made a kick in the butts mod for COH, without them my COH game will be probably lost somewhere taking some dust!

Strictly non political and for entertainment only, So please be kind to spare me the political bullshit regarding WWII or Axis forces in particular, my goal here is to make the game a bit more real physically, i don't give a dam about the rest, i had so many people who asked me to get something like that for their game and very easy to install, so here we go, this add-on is specially made for the Blitzkrieg Mod, in advance thank you.

great addon.

would it be possible that you write down a change log in order to be able to figure out later what was included in version xyz? Would help a lot cause I've downloaded all those version and eventually would like to bring back some gone items of earlier versions in my very own version of the blitzkrieg mod...

In the next version (F14) i will remove the Ace Tiger flag, so if you want to keep it, save it! i will put the exact Michael Wittmann Tiger tank from the 1 SS Pz Div. "SS Heavy Panzer Battalion 101" with the camo & last marking of his Tiger (007)

Hi

Gebirgs and edelweiss. (the black edelweiss)

My very first feeling could also had been gebirgs symbols was a stylised edelweiss. I rather think it could be more likely the Hagal rune.

In early BK version Para were namely designed as SS. That can only be the SS 500 th para Btl, later 600 Th. However only one SS para formation existed, problematic to find a second. My feeling is the 6 th SS mountain div Nord was chose the fill the roles despite it wasnt a para troop.

At least from the 4.0 the SS para, became the more respectable FJR 5. Description was modified.

Aside this, gebirgs didnt (never ?)claimed, ingame, to be SS, despite it was obvious.

SS para and the 6 th SS fought together in the Nordwind operation Early 45 east of France. Afaik SS 600 th was in tank hunter duty, than can explain the Pzschreck. The gebirgs on an other hand, ingame, can call a LEig that is typically a mountain gun.

My opinion is the para gebirgs are really the 6 SS TH mountain Div Nord, and original symbol the Hagal rune on black (sable)shield. It wasnt a mistake, imo. Just looking on original unit collar and sleeve is enough.

I will restrict me about what hagal rune means in the SS symbolism.

It s of course possible to say FJ and WH gebirgs association can be traced up to Crete, but it s at price to close eyes on bk early versions, and consistent evidences, that indicate gebirgs para to be really the 6 th SS, with hagal rune as symbol.

However like caiusbingerus said ; it s your mod. You do what you want, and nothing bounds you to follow strictly BK in everything.

17 th is a good choice for striking visual effect of the symbol.

About mirroring, it s saddly true. Some symbols, cluff title, that historical were on a specific sleeve, will appear on both ingame. It s not something for, the author can be blame.

Technically, most uniform graphic files contain only one sleeve.

In the F11 update i will remove the mirrored sleeves eagle of the ss, i will also equipped the 12th SS with texture camo helmets like in the Normandy battle, all the units symbols, portraits and units icons will also be greatly improved.
