Some good progress. New shield, new weapons, troop tree work and more!

Posted by on

On this last week work has been quite intense. We focused on fixing the skeleton body in order to have it completely operational. Unfortunately there is still something to do about it and, hopefully, will be ready in some days time. However, some other nice material was added to HUL in the meantime...

We added a warhammer and a polehammer to the game, and equiped the Kalid armies with them. We also checked several trees and redistributed certain objects, including some changes on the custom battle characters. Moreover, we upgraded 2 MaB axes which hadn't been changed for Warband.

But probably the most important addition this week was a new heater shield, which we have here thanks to Albertus Magnus. This will behave like most of the shields in MaB, using the heraldy of it's owner, and will replace the original cavalry heater shields from Native.

More items are on the way, and we keep working hard on the undead.

Stay tuned to HUL's page at Mod DB, and check all the new preview media we've added.

Undead, huh? Great to hear :D Will these have racial features? Such as more strength, more agility, etc?

Undead will be unplayable. They will be used by nigromants who, by now, appear as bandits.

However their use will be extended. You'll be able to find them in caves and dungeons, and maybe you'll be able to summon them some day...

Damn Skeletons! They would be one of the best additions to a Warband mod but they sure make you work to get them in!

Keep it up guys, thanks for the updates.

Skeletons, will they be immune to Arrows or take very little damage from them and have a damage weakness towards maces?
Is that possible in what M&B provides in terms of scripts?

No. It's not possible. However I like how combat against them looks. Specially thanks to the sound effects. More info on the next dev diary.

Actually it is possible Revan.

More damage with mace than with swords? Well, it could do as a nice feature if possible. But for now I would be most happy if I manage to stop them bleeding (it's the only thing remaining on the undead to-do-list).

No! Skeletons use their own voices. They sound like some sort of phantoms.

So will you have the possibility of being an actual necromancer sometime in the future development of this mod? Because it sounds exciting! :)
