reminds me at some ship from star wars Images.wikia.com the battledragoon
the plates spin around so that the turbolaser can fire more rapidly than a fixed turbolaser batterie. so when 1 laser is recharging energie another can fire and so on ;-)
maybe thats the concept idea or its just a "ufo" with many lasers shooting everything about 360° in sight
