Heavy Delta 2 is a sequal to the old Quake3Arena mod Heavy Delta. The mod is a simple deathmatch mod with some modifications.
You start the game by choosing weapons from a list. The more weapons you take, the more you weight and the slower you can run. Some weapons of course weights more than others and the weapons are therefor nicely balanced (it comes down to skill instead of having the best weapon). For instance a player with just a knife can take down a player using a gatling gun by simply "dodging" the guns bullet.
Another element of the game is gore. When you put enough damage pr. second on a limb, it will detach disabling the player and making him bleed to death. Severed legs results in the player having to jump around while lost arms will disable the player from reloading and holding his weapon respectively.
We are currently looking for a coder and a mapper to join the team. Send me a mail at rene [at] testdummies [dot] dk if you are interested.
You can try out the old HD1 mod by downloading it further down the page. If you dont have quake 3 arena, you can use open arena. Get it from Openarena.ws . Please note that HD1 uses some of the q3 files which arent in open arena and therefor you might get missing textures ect.
Ps. If any of the old developers from HD1 see's this then feel free to write me a message.
Yeah, its us again;) Things are going great and we are only 3 models away from having all weapons ready!!.
First we have the Fire grenade, a bit boring as model but it will become a sweet nasty weapon of hellish destruction. There's nothing like seeing your foes on fire! Too bad we don't have any marshmallows.
Second is the Freeze grenade. It slows your opponents down so they are easier to bitchslap with your fancy new bat;).
Third is the new harpoongun model. It's simpler, smoother, cooler and it shoots with iron stakes!! This is the weapon that was the most fun in HD1 and with good reason. It can rip off any limb you point at "besides that one" with one shot! Making your opponent jump around on one leg or making him unable to reload his gun, because his arm is missing;), Also you can nail your opponent to the wall just sitting there ready for a headshot;).
And last we have the Textured Frag grenades. Throw a couple of these suckers into the house the camper is sitting in, and then look at him run "or see him get blown out the window".
Just wanna show that we are still alive and we have some stuff for you all to see.
After our mod has been quite dead for a while, we are now back in action to revive it. Check out the new stuff.
Hi everyone. We have finally gotten a new person on the team. His goes by the nick Minimum and is a mapper. Hopefully we will have some sweet looking...
Hello people. We are new to moddb and want to present our mod. It's called Heavy Delta 2 and is a sequal to and old quake3 mod. The mod will be made...
This is the old quake3arena version of the mod. Download it as well as the patch if you wanna try it out :)
If you wanna try the old version of the mod you need to patch your quake3arena with this file before it works.
update this mods news...
did it die? I hope not, the weapons look fun.
i think it died, AGAIN...
Looks fun ;)
We have just desided to bring the mod back to life and are working hard on doing so. So far we have already made a grenade as well as textures for both a player model as well as the gatling gun. More will come soon so keep an eye on the mod :)
I FINALLY managed to play a game of multiplayer Heavy Delta 1 today, after spending like 5 years in the belief that the best mod for the best game ever was mysteriously abandoned and its makers had fallen off the internet. I realize I'm probably 7 months late in finding out that you're making a sequal, but I'll ask anyway: are you still developing this? Is there anything a programmer can do to help? My experience in modding is only in Quake 3 and some HL2, but as you can see I'm very loyal to the cause of bringing back Heavy Delta.
I am wondering if this mod is still alive? Doesn't seem like it.
Oh thanks for the info :)
Uh.. any UT2k4 mod will already work on macs as well (excluding certain shaders or effects)
We cant promise a mac port. It all comes down to if we ever find any coders who wanna make it mac compatible.
