Note 2: The mod is no longer developed for Hearts of Iron. Development moves on to East vs West.
East vs West: Modern Warfare puts you in the seat of goverment of any country during the years 2000 - 2010.
As the USA - spread freedom and democracy and build up your NATO coaltion to avenge the 9.11 attacks.
As China - spread the people's revolution as far as possible, show the USA who's boss.
By force or diplomacy, the path is yours to choose...

Hi everyone.
While we all await the release of East vs West plenty of work is being done to convert Modern Warfare mod from Hearts of Iron 3 to East vs West. This includes a lot of graphical work as well as under the hood tweaks that will make future work easier and faster.
Besides these two time is being devoted to research to have all the info available once the game is released so that events can be implemented quickly and the mod released as quickly as possible. With each development diary I can see that the vision for MWM can become true with the mechanics that will be introduced in East vs West.
Stay tuned, more news will follow as features are announced and revealed for East vs West.

one question if some of experienced players know its not about the mod but do you know how to enter in alliance with country cuz i played with FR Yugoslavia(know in the game as Serbia Montenegro)and i wanted to get in alliance with Ukraine and our relationship status was 200 points nad we granted each other with millitary acces and everything but still they wont get into alliance.Why? And how to do that?
Awesome progress :D Q: Will this mod have a lot of civil war events? I feel like this decade has more/only civil wars, so could it be possbile to make a trigger that starts civil wars/war of indenpencenes?
For example if a nation has a lot of dissent and there's a strong opposision(which is to radical, for example: Communist, fascist, etc.), then it will result in civil war.
Factors that would trigger a war of indenpendence: Dissent,ethnic/religious/cultural differences.
It would've been awesome if these civil wars would be programmed like the spanish civil war BTW.

I intend to turn African into a real example of that. Besides Africa there is also Tibet in China, Shanxi in China, the Kurdish rebels in Turkey and so on...
But don't expect any of these until the basic structure of the mod is done or as long as it is in beta stage.
BTW: The AI is not producing any units, except for Germany(and I have the newest beta with the hotfix).
Will the Arab Spring be an event in the game? If not, maybe somehow include the Libyan Revolutionary War/ NATO intervention? If that's not possible, the Free Libya/Syria flags should take the place of old regime flags if a NATO country "installs democracy". It would be nice, kind tribute for right now I think :)
I do plan to give a very detailed account of the Arab spring but right now it is still pretty far off.
There are few small nations missing like Tajikistan but that one will be added in the next update. Are you missing any other country?
no,u got me wrong :)...i was just asking are there all nations cuz in description it said only about russia america and china :D ...anyway i cant play this mod :\ ...when i start the game nothing hapens :S
How about like South Sudan, or maybe an option to create Kurdistan? Western Sahara (Southern Morocco)?
South Sudan is in the game but do remember that at the year 2000 it was not an independent country. You can still release it as a satellite of Sudan.
Western Sahara may be added in the future, same goes for Kurdidstan.
