Note 2: The mod is no longer developed for Hearts of Iron. Development moves on to East vs West.
East vs West: Modern Warfare puts you in the seat of goverment of any country during the years 2000 - 2010.
As the USA - spread freedom and democracy and build up your NATO coaltion to avenge the 9.11 attacks.
As China - spread the people's revolution as far as possible, show the USA who's boss.
By force or diplomacy, the path is yours to choose...

Hi everyone.
While we all await the release of East vs West plenty of work is being done to convert Modern Warfare mod from Hearts of Iron 3 to East vs West. This includes a lot of graphical work as well as under the hood tweaks that will make future work easier and faster.
Besides these two time is being devoted to research to have all the info available once the game is released so that events can be implemented quickly and the mod released as quickly as possible. With each development diary I can see that the vision for MWM can become true with the mechanics that will be introduced in East vs West.
Stay tuned, more news will follow as features are announced and revealed for East vs West.

I like the idea. I am downloading it as we speak but I am wondering Will certain countries revolt and become independent and will be rather playable countries or non-playable.
For example say in the UK that Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be able to revolt and gain their independence?
If so will we be able to play as those minor factions?
Yes,you can play as revolting nations but Scotland, Wales or northern Ireland are not planned to be revolting nations.
We might add an option later on to release these as puppets but for now there are no such plans. Revolting countries are more like Tibet, Western Sahara and the Kurdish rebels in Turkey\Iraq\Iran...
I like this. Couple of questions though.
1) Shouldn't all the NATO countries be allied with each other? Or is that not added yet?
2) Are there going to be more start dates like the Iraq War, South Ossetia War, and the Arab Spring?
3) Are the missing countries going to be added?
4) In the next version, are nations going to start with larger armies? Kind of annoying when the Koreas go to war and there are no units fighting.

I thought that was funny too, america hasn't even signed the human rights act, the cluster bombs expulsion international law, invading countries with false evidence, lieing to UN. They are as bad as China or Russia. There is no "good" country. They all look out for number 1, and america is no different. People like to play realism games, not american propaganda. That saying, the rest of the mod looks interesting
"Spread freedom and democracy" is satire.

this mod is in Pre alpha stage.no armies at all, cant produce anything, Borders are Distorted ,loading screens from vanila,Menu distorted,no events , cant declare war, using 3.05 and map is from SF?Those screenshots on this site are ''work in progres'' but i guess its not available to the public(that version) . When we can expect real version to come out, playable one like one on those screens on this site
i tried to install this 3 times, exactly as Txt says but i always end up with in my opinion PRE ALPHA hoi3:modern warfare, no armies at all, only 6 units in Land production,2 air 0 navy or something... techs are from cold war and earlier. am i doing something wrong or this is supposed to be like this ?
