Throughout the Half Life games, Gorden Freeman faced many enemies. Perhaps none were more interesting than the head crabs. These parasitic little buggers could become quite a nuisance as they crept in the shadows, waiting to get their pray.
Head-Humped provides players with the ability to play as the head crabs as they fight the humans for dominance. Upon joining a game, players choose to join either the Head Crabs or the Humans. As the crabs gain control of human hosts, the number of humans will dwindle until they are extinct. The humans will be forced to fight for survival as they attempt to escape the hell they have been thrust into.

Some of the key features of Head Humped include:

  • Ability to play as humans or head crabs
  • Objective style game play
  • Inventory system encouraging humans to carry only the supplies they need
  • Head Humping allowing crabs to take over humans and become zombies

Hello all you faithful mod watchers, I'd like to introduce myself.
My name is david lisuk and I have been the lead coder for hte mod for about 6 months now; however these past few months have been extremely hard for the team as members were running out of time and dropping out of hte team. The mod's previous leaders have just fully given the reigns of this mod to me and I hope to get this mod ready for release asap. The codeing is probalyb about 40-50% done and we have some great maps comeing along. Over the next few weeks i will be taking a break from codeing as I graduate high school in order to develop a new website with features such as developer journals, better news posting, and new forums in order to better inform the community.

Also we will soon be having job openings, especialy in the art and sound development departments. As soon as I get the new website up I'll post thoes and post some news stories about it.

Thanks for all of you who have been remaining interested in the mod and I hope to have the mod in your hands within a few months; hopefuly before I have to start college in september.

Also our ModDB Forums are here: Moddb.com

Thank You,

David Lisuk

one thing ive NEVER seen in any mods for hl2 are the ability for headcrabs to actually infest a human host and turn into a zombie(instead of what you usually see, which is something like you see a headcrab jump on someones head and use the animation that valve provided in route canal to show the headcrab infesting the host, then you turn around for a second then turn right back around and BAM! almost immediately you see a complete mutation of a civ. change into a lab coat chest split open hands replaced with claws and so on.)

what i'd really like to see are some custom models of humans and zombies. like zombies actually resemble their former human-selfs before mutation. if you guys can do it, it would be cool to see a custom animation of a headcrab infestation. like if the headcrab were to infest a living host, you could see the teeth of the headcrab bite into the host's neck, with blood gushing and stuff like that, while the host struggles to get the headcrab off of him. over time, you see the host's skin start to rot or come off and the mutation of the hands into claws, you can see the host's chest cavity swell to an abnormal obesity, until the host finally can't endure the pain he's taking and at the last second before he dies, he lets out a shrill cry of agony, outstretching from all the chemical and physical mutations, and his chest explodes with blood and guts spilling out as he slowly falls to the ground. shortly after though, the headcrab now has full control of his host and does as he pleases.

lol sry if that was more of a rant, but i just wanted to give you a picture of what im looking to see in a civ-to-zombie mutation. hope that did paint some kind of portrait, and hopefully thats possible in the source engine. thx if you read my post.
