In Hazard, I've been experimenting with various different types of zombie spawning. There are 3 types I am considering for the next release.

1. Fixed spawn points. This is what old versions of hazard used. There were set points on the map where zombies would spawn. This method is predictable but reliable.

2. Random spawning method 1. In this method, an entity is placed on the map and zombies will be spawned within a given radius of it

3. Random spawning method 2. In this method, zombies are spawned within a certain radius of the player.

There are pros and cons of each of these methods, and I'd like to know what the watchers of the mod think would be the best course of action. Another possibility to consider is using a combination of the above methods.

Or, you can capture bases to make your way through infested territory, from base to base. Maybe you even can collect some parts of special weapon (like a bomb) to use this weapon later. Or you can help for some survivors to get a safe place (though this requires a clever enough AI for your companions, or they will die too frequently :) ).

Also, when you play single (without allied units on a map) it easy to run out of ammo after some time, because weapons drop rare enough. And health/armor do not drop at all.

Also, a fix for key setting page would be helpful, with adding of new specific commands (like nightvision).

Health actually does drop, It's just very rare. As I mentioned in previous comments, Hazard is getting a complete overhaul, I would like to add a few alternative modes in addition to the normal survival, I feel like I will definitely add some sort of escape mode, where player has to locate and get to evacuation points in time to be picked up by a plane/boat or whatever. It would be similar to an open world Left 4 Dead. I have actually thought about a mode to rescue survivors, and capturing areas, but it is too early to consider these modes yet, and like you said would require much better human AI, otherwise it would just be annoying. I am working on a Technology demo to showcase new AI, because I want to show how the addition of different zombie behaviors challenges the player in a unique way.

A day and night cycle is in the latest update. Gameplay is that there is a Zombie Outbreak and you have to survive the infection and kill as many zombies as you can. Gameplay of the currently released version is like an arcade player can get lots of weapons to kill zombies.

I have to be honest, I want better gameplay than this. I am not satisfied with simple arcade gameplay that is Beta 2. So for a while I have been thinking of the future of hazard.

I am going to talk about planned features which are in development and not in the current version now:

Development is taking a new turn and future releases will be much different. After Beta 2 we have started over and we are completely redoing the game. Next release we will see more realistic gameplay, and player won't be as strong as he is in Beta 2. For example, there will more zombies with special abilities, such as leaping at the player. Weapons will be more thought out beause in Beta 2 there are about 60 different weapons, but they do not each serve a special purpose. So in the next version, each weapon will be unique. This will result in a smaller number of weapons, but more variety in their function.

In addition the next release will feature a hunger system and a new game mode where the player has to escape a zombie infested area. This includes discovering possible evacuation points and waiting until the plane/boat/whatever arrives to take him to safety.

Another new feature will be Factions. I had previously posted about adding factions to the mod, but only now have I made significant progress towards this goal. There will be many different groups of people which can help or attack the player. If the player is greedy, he can choose to attack friendly characters or groups to obtain valuable resources such as ammo or food.

I have already made very significant progress towards these goals and have a good amount of all new working zombie and human NPCs as well as new weapons, player sounds, death effects, etc all of which are done. You all can expect a demo of the new hazard fairly soon, like in a month or near then, so keep watching this page for updates.
