Hard-Life is a mod that aims to change how you play Half-Life. The game was difficult back in 1998 but we've all nearly memorized enemy patterns and locations. Rather than raising enemy health and damage in an artificial manner, we decided to overhaul how the the AI works. Enemies are more evasive, they move quicker, react faster, and are more deadly with their aim.

Human enemies work more efficiently together to flush you out, and now bring a wide assortment of firepower with them to give you a tough time in every situation. Aliens are more aggressive and more willing to hit and run the player.

Additional enemies have also been hand-placed throughout the game to keep up the pressure, but without drastically changing the game's native pacing. There are also some new additions to the Half-Life cast, but they should all be familiar places.
Aside from increasing the general difficulty of the game, we also decided to implement extra features to the game that we feel fit the original tone, or were even reflected in concept art. Allies can be equipped with heavier firepower, and come in more forms and the same goes for your enemies too. We wanted to introduce variation to every scenario so that no firefight ever feels the same as the last.
We're also making an effort to unify assets in the game so that the world feels more cohesive. Weapons will now match in their world and player versions, and will seem a bit more functional as well. Many features added to the game should not be overly noticeable and you may find yourself wondering if certain elements were always there or added by Hard-Life.

This mod is under very active development, and we have an active GitLab with updates nearly every day.

This is the first official trailer for our mod, Hard-Life. This mod aims to make Half-Life drastically more difficult without simply making enemies into bullet sponges. We've added new AI behaviors, changed the way game systems worked, and added a ton of new content into the game that still fits the art and spirit of Half-Life.

I have a suggestion:
can you add the fassassin's sound tracking AI (walking toward suspicious sounds, only for that monster)
to all monsters? that way you'd have to be silent and enemies would come near you more often.

we actually tried this. the problem is the NPC's go towards doors that should be locked & Automatically open. So unfortunately if we do-do this we'll have to really look into them not opening doors automatically.

ah, I can see why that could be a problem. Also do the monster_[DATA UNKNOWN]_random entities spawn entities on random map nodes occasionally so they are in completely unexpected areas or does it just control how many enemies spawn from that one point?

no updates for 6 weeks now, and their not replying to any comments. That's usually not a good sign for mods like these....

You need to calm your **** dude. Mod is being worked on, but both of us have full time jobs. Right now a lot of mechanics are being worked on which can't really be obviously showed off in screenshots so we're trying to grt enough new content for trailer 2.

what...? I was just making a comment in no way was I being aggressive. I was just worried because mods get abandoned left and right, You just suddenly took it as an offence and decided to tell me to "calm my ****" when I wasn't even being aggressive in the first place.

EDIT:
I'm sorry, I get angry easily.
I was just concerned since almost every high-anticipated mod recently has been abandoned and I have my hopes up that this won't mod be like those other mods.

You said it, my friend That's not a good sign. I am still left with counter-life and brutal half-life. Hopefully there is some news since the mod I thought very but very good. And everything says it's going to be harder

I do not have half-life? Do not offend brother but I get tired of saying that I have half-life on the original CD and the No-Steam version. But to the comments (I delete them myself) so that it is not spam or annoyance. Because I do not like to bother I just came to consult and not to look for problems
