Hello everyone! Sancho here!

I wanted to give you all a much needed preview of things to come for Sins of the Prophets Sound! As the programming team is busy reconstructing the game to purge bugs, we've been working hard on a sound update that will rock your socks off!

First off, The Covenant User Interface is getting a much needed face-lift and the old placeholder is out! (Sancho is not the best Elite admittedly) I'm pleased to announce the addition of I'mNotJamesEarlJones to the Sotp Vocal Talent! He will be playing an Elite Arbiter tasked with updating the fleet-master of vital naval information. Enjoy!

We are also happy to introduce our newest staff member: MattP. MattP is a SFX artist that has been assisting replacement efforts of all of the Vanilla SOASE SFX with our own, to truly make this a total conversion Mod. Here are a few things he's been cooking up for you to devour with your eardrums. (super stoked for the plasma boiling metal sound)

Lastly, Waseem Faraz Butt has remastered several prominent tracks from the Sins of the Prophets score, and has made them available for you to download! Now you can enjoy the score of SotP to your hearts content! (#TotallyHaveItOnRepeatRightNow)

You are kidding right? Math would show that with the power of a MAC gun, you could very well crack a planet in half, at least turn it into a flaming hell hole.

Maybe not crack a planet in half, but the acceleration of a MAC round fired from high orbit hitting terminal velocity and impacting on the surface would yield the same force as say a 60 megaton bomb.

The total energy released from the impact of a MAC round fired from a UNSC Orbital Defense Platform releases a colossal 194.7 exajoules of energy (46.5 gigatons). To put this in perspective, this is about 3,090,195 times the energy released from the atomic bomb detonated over Hiroshima in World War II, which released a comparatively small 63 terajoules of energy (15.5 kilotons).
According to calculation based on given statistics, a blast coming from a shipborne MAC has 58.16 kilotons of force. The given math is as follows. In order to find the force behind an object, you must take the velocity(30,000m/s) and square it (900,000,000) then multiply that by the projectile weight (540,784Kg) and then divide that number by 2. This gives us 243 terrajoules of energy approximately 2.5 times as powerful as the more powerful Fat Man atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki in World War II.

It's not going to have the same blast as a nuke. Just a very deep impact crater as it is a bullet and not a bomb.

They wouldn't crack a planet in half, but the slug from an orbital MAC would theoretically be able to pierce through the crust to the mantle of the planet. Thus letting out magma/lava through the planet's new butt hole, even if it didn't split the planet in half.

Remember you're putting all that energy behind a very small object relatively speaking.

um...what? I think you're just throwing numbers and terms around to impress people.

In any case, a MAC round, even a Super MAC would not provide enough yield to crack a planet in HALF as you stated earlier. Make a nice dent yes, but its not a planet killer.

Idk, in the reach holopads, it said that even if every known covenant ship were glassing a planet continuously, it would take 30 years to complete.the mac only shot small, concentrated slugs, and unless its a super, it won't do much to a planet, I know I'm disproving my own thing but still. Math?!? That's a pretty broad sþatement to make about the mac, like I said, unless iþs a super mac, it won't do much
