Greetings,
With the recent images and video of the UNSC Infinity, Mantle's Approach, and the various iterations of our fancy new UI, fervor over the next release of the mod is at an all time high. The updates may also make it look like the mod is ready to ship out, since the last news you saw from us mentioned having to rebuild the project. So, the SotP mod team would like to update you on the status of the game and the rebuild.
Rebuild
The rebuild is about halfway done at this point. It's time consuming and monotonous work that takes longer to do due to the tedious nature of the project. While we have brought on two new coders that will eventually help us speed up tasks, they take time to train. Overall the project is picking up pace and should continue to do so.

However, that isn't the only thing going on with the mod. We still have artists working on the project: fixing planet textures, working on the UI and HUD, fixing up aging engine and weapon effects, modeling and texturing ships that will eventually make it in-game.

Once the rebuild is complete, the process of fixing balancing issues, improving research trees, and general testing will begin. Before the rebuild the mod was rebalanced based on feedback from the July release of the mod, thanks to over 30,000 players and tons of feedback, so most of the testing will be centered around the UNSC Infinity and how new research affects the overall metagame.

Forgehub
We've fully customized SoaSE's Galaxy Forge map creation tool to use our custom planets, icons, and ships - allowing users to create multiplayer maps in the same way one can in Halo's Forge. We've also created a subforum on the mod's forum to post and rate user created maps. Highly rated maps may end up being part of the official mod, so get to work! The last item I want to share with you is a message we got from a Marine at MCAS-1 in Yuma.
Unsurprisingly, we're fans of the military here at SotP. I'm a veteran myself and it's truly awesome to get messages like this from our fans. This kind of stuff motivates us to work harder and produce a better product for all of you, especially those of you going into harm's way.

The Epoch is a ****** remake of our own Athens. The ORS will have to be changed if we decide to use it. It has some serious flaws.
I don't see any flaws with the ORS. What exactly do you think is wrong with that ship? Also will the DDS carrier use the SoP model or the canonical one?

No, this is why we specifically mention the public version of the mod is from July of last year.

first off you guys are doing an amazing job on this mod. Huge fan. Now one thing i thought we be an awesome addition would be to incorporate the effect the corvettes have when they strafe targets. There moving constantly into the target and then they re engage the target on the next pass. How come you guys didn't use this effect for some of you smaller ships for either races?
Anything with a MAC is terrible idea to have move that way in this kind of game.
Also, if you look at the space combat shown during the siege of Earth in Halo 2 Anniversary, our current combat system is pretty accurate.

great work guys, first time I played was looking forward to kicking some butt, then got my arse wooped. Didn't read the part where the cov ships are much stronger. Think it makes it more interesting and certainly fast paced. Will deff be keeping an eye on this mod's progress.
Loving it, and if it isn't, ummm classified by Uni- erm, i mean ONI, could we see some possible WIP of the Remnant? just wanna know what i get to shoot a big tungsten shell at next!
If your adding the Mantle's Approach. Why not a CSO? as the Mantle Approach is way way way larger... I'll understan-- wait... the Mantle's Approach is way more OP than a CSO? So why?
Do you even know why the CSO is so hated? Besides, the CSO has no role that isn't already filled.

Im trying to activate the mod abut every time i do it pops up a "Save Mini Dump" notification and crashes. how do i fix this problem?

Yo... So... It's been a year now is this mod dead? Or are you guys still having problems with rebuilding... A year feels quite a long time... Cause it is, any update reguarding the mods status would be great tbh cause I love this mod.
