A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
A marathon guarding a UNSC planet. This was mere moments before an Assault Carrier jumped in and destroyed it.
You might also notice the improved planet texture, which was done by MaxTael. All the other planets textures were improved similarly.
...Marathon go 'splode? Sad day :(
1/4 chub
what does chub mean?
Atlas, what the hell are you talking about?
You've been mentioning chub on all the pictures.
i know right?good looking marathon cruiser,i see in the back a tec shipyard, will you be making a new shipyard for the unsc or just keeping the tec's?
its so beautiful im getting hard
*no comment
still havnt a comment on that...
athough i like the ship.. i'm still gonna melts some humis tho
i think im going to use covies.... i just love that assault carrier
Am i the only one . who thinks it is odd that the covenant will burn a volcanic planet?.....
take it from me, and I probably might think this is whats going to happen in one or two ways: they might keep the TEC's shipyard, because it probably looks like the kind of shipyard we might build someday, (not colonizing ANY planets that is because if we do, then what the heck is Revelation going to prove?) or make a UNSC mod for it and make it differently by drawing their own designs of what it might have looked like, or go to the person who made a Halo mod for Homeworld 2.
(my opinion you can agree or disagree with me, doesnt matter to me anyway you slice it...)
i agree with the revelation thing cus i am christian =)
I am christian raised but don't have the belief. Believe revelations only cuz it's statistically more likely for that to happen then for us to colonize the stars.
@Thanas: It's statistically more probable for us to beam into the sky then to have manned spaceflight?
statiscally,no,biblically,yes God doesnt need statistics
@CandaMan
to colonize space,
have space marines and
fight aliens with a religious overtone. ;)
Technically we haven't even advanced very far since space flight. Though we're starting to get there now... maybe if we're lucky we're get to having an mars colony and it can be owned by walmart and then wal fraction raises up! o Wait.. that sounds similar to another story. XD
Basically humans.. we need to have our self-interests driven towards space flight and traveling to other stars otherwise we will never get off this rock.
Lol WalMart Wars XDDDDDDD :P
atleast not for the next 150-200 years
We technically already have manned space flight.
theres no technically to it, we do.
Faster than light travel, that might involve a technically if you count relativity.
True. Even without FTL, I expect things to start quickening in pace after the lunar base is done that's planned in 2020.
we MAY have some trouble with FTL travel,as einstein's law of relativity states, travelng FTL would be equivelant to time travel so for example warping to pluto FTL you would arrive before you left, then when you returned to earth you would arrive there before you left for pluto, which would complicate things a little bit
To be honest, we don't need FTL travel to get to other stars. We just need to get as close to FTL as possible and our journeys due to time differences of traveling to FTL, our watches on the ship that is going near FTL would actually take shorter amount of time.
A good analogy would be the life span of a human, and then you propel it, if your going close to FTL speed, it could be equivalent to say 30-40% of a human life span and the percentage would get lower the higher in speed you go. That is of course, I am correct about my knowledge of relativity.
sounds about right, but one thing people always confuse is that they always use alpha centuri as an example, but there are only gas giants around alpha centuri,we may have to travel ALOT further to find colonizable worlds, plus then you have the economic issue of terraforming
My friend is working on a possible theory for FTL travel. Its based on electro-magnetic inertial propulsion. I don't know the specifics but it isn't effected by relativity. Thus FTL possible. Althogh it may sound far fetched that a seventeen year old is working on a theory for FTL, this guy is also building a working MRI machine, so maybe not so far fetched.
if u r always waiting for a beam of light to take u into the sky, u may miss everything life has to offer.
besides, we'll all nuke eachother long b4 any of that happens anyway.
Nukes aren't what I'm worried about, nobody is stupid enough to use nukes now a days, that's just a ticket for everyone to gang-bang you. Though what I would be afraid about is some super-bug/flu/disease that spreads like wildfire, or robots or my favorite - An Asteroid.
atlas you dont want to start this, trust me
and it wont be a beam of light, and im not waiting for it.
It is impossible to accelerate an object with a velocity less than the speed of light to a velocity equal to or exceeding the speed of light. So... our only hope for superluminal travel would be through wormholes and the like, and even then we are not really traveling faster than the speed of light, we are just taking a shortcut.
I like all the point and Creators of the mod i can't wait to play it lol, anyway i was thinking couldn't we create FTL Drives now. I mean if you think about it you would need a lot of energy to (excuse me spelling) Propel the ship FTL has anyone thought about using the Internal combustion engine idea but with nukeual fusion? Would anyone think it is possible?
I say we work on increasing the human life span to thousands times what it is now and then space travel will be no problem :D
Isnt the Halcyon class better?
Better than an assault carrier? No. A halcyon is a cruiser it is a bit smaller and weaker than an assault carrier. An assault carrier is what truth was on during the battle of earth. An assault carrier is very hard to kill. Then i dont even think if the halcyon is a capital ship but the assault carrier would fit the capital sip window. An assault carrier can pretty much destroy the halcyon fast if its alone.
I think he meant "better than the Marathon". Referring to the Autumn's upgrades, I'm guessing.
How many Marathons or Halcyons would you need to take down a lone Assault Carrier? Three? Four?
