A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
The Didact's impressive flagship, the Mantle's Approach, is an intimidating warship by any military's standards. Used primarily to transport Prometheans across the galaxy, it is more than a match for even the UNSC Infinity, engaging in several battles with it as seen in Halo 4. It is also arguably the largest ship to appear in a canon Halo reference.
Credits go to Didact, of Halo Homefront.

Amazing, cant wait to see it skinned beside the Infinity!
me neither.
This will be "fun" to destroy...
...1000 ships later
you forgot a few zeros...
Forget the ships. Chief, boarding actions!
Ready to go!
Your so the wrong "Spartan" for the job...Just launch a few Cortanas into place and call it good. Thats all that's needed.
Excuse me? The WRONG Spartan for the job? What is wrong with me????????
Too many 1's
Yes, now i can destroy humanity with a giant taco!
The love of tacos shall be humanities downfall!
I have a question, will you add the new model of the Charon Class Frigate from Halo 4 as a new ship? Or, will you just ignore the ship completely?
It will appear. It's now called the Strident-class heavy frigate, btw.
Thank god they changed it too. I can accept it now with the new name classification.
Sure, sure.
The Forward Unto Dawn just happened to switch classes while floating in space for years as well.
I actually find the Strident quite sexy. Even though the marines are the ugliest thing in Halo 4
god i hate halo 4 marines so much
Because screw logic right?
i found this and the part with the halo ships its has the new ship that the dawn magically transformed into, it says it is a heavy destroyer Dirkloechel.deviantart.com
Will it evolve at level 10 into a butterfree?
you, sir, get ALL of the upvotes
Pardon my ignorance, but I dont get your joke.
hes saying it looks like metapod from pokemon
He just got an upvote from me.
This thing looks great! Are you guys going to add the Fortress-Class, or is that just too much overkill?
that would be a little on the mean side but then again there is no such thing as over kill
I believe it has been ruled out as the small one is 50 Kilometers long and the larger one is 100 Kilometers long.
Yes but that could mean that it is a starbase
overkill ? no such thing x)
I don't believe in overkill, I just call it making damn sure.
how long was it because anywhere under 10km and it wasn't even "cruiser" class to the forerunners... they're smallest ships were about 1km long during the forerunner-human war... I guess that may have changed as there are smaller ships but hey there we go
You could google it, you know.
If you mean the Mantle's approach, it is supposed to be a little over 371km tall.
Obviousley it'll be smaller in game for obvious reasons.
I feel like they seriously downsized it in Halo 4.
I'm sorry 371km tall.
That does not make sense considering that the forerunners LARGEST military ship is 100KM at it's biggest point.
To be honest I prefer what this site has (https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postsm2157373_posts.aspx) said it makes sense.
I prefer those dimensions as well, but the 371km tall thing was out of the halo 4 visual guide book.
At which point it is open to interpretation.
Not just that doesn't the visual guide use concept art as well. That would mean that the concept could have been 371KM but they Changed it in the final version.
idk I don't have it just yet, but halopedia states it's 371km so whatever, it's probably a **** up tbh considering pretty much anyone can edit the page. But if it does say that in the visual guide (halo 4 one) then we should be inclined to believe that 343 are idiotic enough to make such a ridiculously over sized ship, just as they were idiotic enough to retcon FUD and the marines.
looking at it it could have been a **** up... if you look at the the post the guy does a very accurate, but still rough method of determining the height.
Which could mean he was off a kilometer or two so it could be 71KM tall instead of 72KM tall which means it could very well be a typo in the halopedia
Ironically made by a guy named Didact
thats not irony, thats just epic coincidence
(buried)
Ew. The model is superb, but just, Halo 4 ew.
are forerunner ships going to be immune from flood infection?
If they were, they would have won the war...
well prometheans are supposed to be immune to flood, and this is Halo 4 timeline were talking about here.
unless the flood had a billion combat forms i dont see how they could just casually jack this ship in the middle of a battle.
well the forerunners themselves were able to be infected, Including the Didact and all the prometheans. The promethean knights, crawlers and watchers aren't capable of being infected biologically but I am not sure what the gravemind's logic plague would have done to them.
I was wondering if you can add hangar bays to frigates because in the games and in the books they do have them
technically, you could give anything in the game a hangar hardpoint and it could be used
now, do you want strikecraft flying from every single object in the game? :P
wow I didn't think of how much lag that would cause before I asked the question
Yeah, all but the best of computers melt when there are more than, like, 300 squadrons on screen
so that explains why my computer starts to lag
also I have a laptop if I get a desktop will I be able to play without lag that I experience with my laptop
To a certain extent, yes. However, you will get to the point that, no matter what, the game will lag no matter what you do, due to hardware limitations imposed by the engine (read: 2 gig RAM limit)
