For matt's version (newest) go to C:\Program Files (x86)\sierra\Homeworld2\Data\scripts\startingfleets and open up the UNSC doc, scroll down untl you see type = "Usc_strikefrigate",

If you want more frigates simply change the number to something below 100. Now when you start your game. you have 100 frigates!

Matt is also looking to organise a new team to continue the mod, if you feel you can contribute, please contact him.

Make sure if you're asking to do something like modelling that you provide some demonstration of your skill, and if you're applying for coding or something, be fairly comfortable with hw2 coding/be fairly comfortable with being able to learn in a short time after asking. Texturers are definitely welcome.

And most importantly, be willing to put a good deal of time into it. Contributing once every 2 months is useless.

I installed the old beta instead. May not look as pretty but I liked having more ships to play around with and being able to build more rather than be stuck with just the starting fleet.
Only thing is some of the ships have no weapons and others, like the Halcyon are really slow. Speed around 70 where others are 300 or 400.
Just wondering if you could put up a post like this about how to mod the ships weapons and speeds? If it's possible that is.

It's possible, but it would take much more than just editing a .DOC
for editing weapons and such, for the speed of the ship im not quite sure, ill send you a P.M. If I find out.

Right, was just wondering if it was something like the ships had been hardpointed for the weapons but never had them added.
Maybe I'll look at the files and see if I can find anything but if not at least I have frigates and destroyers to play with.

I'm not really sure. I think if it doesn't have weapons right now then it probably wasn't hardpointed.

Well I've been able to change the speed of the Marathon and some of the other ships and I noticed a few other interesting things.
The Marathon in your trailer (or is it the Astraeus?) uses missiles but in this release neither do. The Marathon has a MAC but nothing else.
Looking in the Marathons file there are archer missiles on it but none fire. When I remove the -- in front of the first line the game crashes.
Moved on anyway to trying to get the covenant ships in but so far met with more crashes. Copied the UNSC entry in the race file and changed it to covenant, the created a starting fleet file using the battlecruiser for testing but while I can select covenant it crashes on loading at universe.
If I keep trying to add bits can I PM one of you guys for help rather than posting here?
