This all more or less happened in one game against an expert AI(yes the AI works), sorry there weren't any MAC screen captures, have to wait until our first cruiser gets put in game(soonish). =P

Does these frigates not have MACs or are you still working on the animation?

They do have MACs, just don't have any pictures of them actively firing right now, this fight happened quite fast and didn't allow much time to grab MAC shots. Next set of screenshots'll feature it more prominently.

How powerful is a MAC shot against enemy frigates? How long is its range?

Two MACs to any side will destroy a heavy frigate, pretty much, and it fires almost a full second and a half before anything else on the ship, I'd say it's almost ten ingame kilometers(which while not realistic, is still kinda generous).
The Destroyer tanks up to four shots, sometimes five, if all aimed at the front-half or sides(more armor).

Despite losing most of their assault fleet, the opposition continues to offer resistance, but a quick ambush from a waiting trio of heavy frigates wipes out the remaining opposition strikegroup.
