Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
I present to you the UNSC Carrier, we haven't really figured anything out for this yet but I thought I'd show it of anyway seeing as it's been a little while since you have had anything to consume.
P.s. Zero please don't rage flip me :P
yummy!

The Didact sucks by the way, oh yea and so does Halo 4. Not you but the character, pretty lame.

AHAHAH FUG :DDDDDD YOU TROLED ME
I still take offense considering I named myself after him, besides why would you just say that out of the blue. Say it on a forum or somewhere where it actually belongs.....
Hey I like the Didact he is my third favourite character...
He's insane don't diss insane... Insane awesome...
Oorah
But anyway going good :D
And I really shouldn't but...
Dat aft
You know better!
Yes I do but honestly... Totally worth it!
Looks like a Box :P
And it also looks very big! (Which i like) ^^
Oh yeah, the Didact is making really good model almost up to Velo's standards (sorry Didact, your model is really awesome but i remember some Velo's models had an even higher poly count).
I am so excited to see this beast in next release!
You do realise high poly count is a bad thing right? That said I do agree, Velo's models were/are better because he has more experience and he get's paid to do it as a job (as far as I know)
It wasn't meant to be an offence, and i perfectly know how HW2 engine struggle with many high poly models on screen together.
About the model, where does the aircrafts should dock?
Also how many aircraft do you plan to allow it to carry?
The aircraft will launch from the belly just like the other cruisers in the mod. The carrier will either carry max fighter pop. for small-medium scale fleet sizes or just a little under so the Hermes is still useful. Depending on what route we go, there will be one or two subsystems you can build on the carrier: one will allow construction of strikecraft while the other may allot more hangar space (if possible, perhaps a second entrance I'm not sure). The canon explanation for this is that the invasion hangars (aka ground deployment facilities) are gutted in favor of a more space oriented carrier since all UNSC carriers in the Halo universe have a dual role of ground deployment and fighter support.
I wish i got paid.
I thought you did lol
I've gotten paid, but not for modelling. Illustration and concept art is where it's at.
oooohhhhhh, I see. You should get paid for both tbh :P
Nice and big, that's how I li-..wait, what?
Would be nifty if there was a bottom hanger for fighters and a side hanger for corvettes or such, they could actually use anchor points and be visibly docked within the ship. That'd be nifty to me at least. Nonetheless, great model, can't wait to see it in combat.
Why do you think it would be able to carry corvettes?
Not saying it would be able to, I'm just saying it would be kinda cool. Even for repair, just to be able to dock within the hangar, repair and disembark.
Their first concept of carrier had a huge hangar in the back to dock Marathon-Class-HC but i think they labeled this idea as useless not so much time ago, so expect the same pattern with other vessels.
Although i wouldn't dislike corvette docking externally just to repair...
Well docking in combat would leave all ships vulnerable to attack and even outside of combat, ships may not be able to repair fast enough. However, the carrier will be capable of building the Gyges repair drones much like the Hermes so servicing the fleet won't be as big a burden. Repair drones are honestly the one thing that keeps ships alive in and out of combat (redundant I know as servicing all the corvettes would be tedious, but theres no where to dock corvettes to on the carrier).
I <3 Gyges drones! They are like little friendly octopie :)
Not to mention incredibly helpful!
Gyges drones = First target for any fleet AI or Human -.-
The point I was making is that they're expendable and can repair quickly, both in and out of combat. If the carrier berthed a corvette, then the corvette is useless and will probably be destroyed anyways, but at least with the Gyges it has a fighting chance.
